Academy Sports + Outdoors is a general merchandiser that offers products that help maintain the health and safety of residences, persons, and pets, including but not limited to food, dry goods, shelter supplies, pet supplies, and other household goods. We sell hardware, including various tools, batteries (auto and small home batteries), flashlights, generators, tires, ropes, shelters, grills, cooking fuel, and other items commonly found in essential general merchandiser stores. We sell food, water, and nutrition products. We sell first aid, personal care, and safety/hygiene products. We are also one of the go-to places to prepare for and respond to severe weather, which our customers have counted on year after year going into peak severe weather season during the spring months of March, April, and May.
FOOD AND AGRICULTURE •Workers supporting groceries, pharmacies, convenience stores, and other retail (including unattended and vending) that sells human food, animal/pet food and pet supply, and beverage products, including retail customer support service and information technology support staff necessary for online orders, pickup and delivery.
LAW ENFORCEMENT, PUBLIC SAFETY, AND OTHER FIRST RESPONDERS •Workers – including contracted vendors -- who maintain, manufacture, or supply equipment and services supporting law enforcement emergency service and response operations (to include electronic security and life safety security personnel). •Workers supporting the operation of firearm or ammunition product manufacturers, retailers, importers, distributors, and shooting ranges.•Workers who support weather disaster / natural hazard mitigation and prevention activities.•Security staff to maintain building access control and physical security measures.
