What Are My Options for Returning an Online Purchase?

Merchandise purchased online can be returned via FedEx or at your local Academy Sports + Outdoors store. You may obtain a copy of your receipt in your Academy.com account under your ‘Purchase Details’. Bulk items cannot be returned online.

Option 1: Return by Mail

  1. Go to our ‘Track Orders & Purchases’ page to view the current status of your order.
  2. Enter your order number and your email address
  3. Click ‘View Purchase Details’
  4. Select the item you would like to return
  5. Click ‘Return Items’ and select ‘Mail’
  6. You can then print your return label and affix the label to the outside of your package
  7. Drop off your package at the nearest FedEx location

If you have a valid packing slip, you may return the merchandise to Academy by parcel carrier/mail to the Academy Returns Center at the address below for a refund of the purchase price minus any Academy.com or Academy mobile app charges (unless you are eligible to receive a refund of such charges) in the original form of payment:

Please fill in any requested information on the packing slip. Include the packing slip in the return box. We issue refunds only after our team has received and inspected the returned merchandise.

Need to make a return using special or bulk shipping? If you wish to return a purchase requiring special or bulk shipping, please contact Customer Service for assistance. Items purchased online and picked up in-store are not eligible for return by parcel/carrier and must be returned in-store.

Option 2: Return to Store

  1. Go to our ‘Track Orders & Purchases’ page to view the current status of your order.
  2. Enter your order number and your email address
  3. Click ‘View Purchase Details’
  4. Select the item you would like to return
  5. Click ‘Return Items’ and select ‘Store’
  6. We’ll generate a barcode for you. Simply present this unique barcode to the store for any refunds or exchanges.
