Order Status
After you place an order on Academy.com, you’ll be able to track the status of your order — both before and after it’s shipped! The statuses found on Your Purchases and Purchase Details will provide varying order statuses depending on the order type and how it is being fulfilled.
Shipping Carrier Statuses:
If you have completed a Shipping purchase and the tracking button is available, here’s a summary of all the possible statuses you might see from our Shipping Carriers:
For USPS
- In Transit: The package is on its way to its destination.
- Out for Delivery: The package is out for delivery to the recipient.
- Delivered: The package has been successfully delivered.
- Arrived at Unit: The package has reached the local post office or delivery unit.
- Departed USPS Regional Facility: The package has left a regional sorting facility.
- Processed Through Facility: The package has been processed at a USPS facility.
For FedEx
- In Transit: Your package is on its way to the destination and is moving through the FedEx network.
- Delivered: The package has been delivered to the recipient's address.
- Pending: The package is awaiting further action, such as customs clearance or delivery scheduling.
- Exception: There was an issue with the delivery, such as a customs delay or the recipient not being home.
- On Hold: The package is being held for some reason, which could include payment issues or delivery restrictions.
For UPS
- Label Created: UPS has received shipment details and a tracking number.
- Shipped/On the Way: UPS has received your package and it's moving through their network.
- Out for Delivery: Your package is out for delivery to your address.
- Exception: There's an issue with your shipment, such as a delay or address problem.
- Delivered: Your package has been successfully delivered.
Emails & Text Status Communication:
Understanding the Status
Here’s a summary of all the possible statuses you might see within your Order Status Communication Emails & Texts:
- Submitted: We’ve processed your order. You’ll receive a shipment confirmation email once we ship it out.
- Shipped: We’ve shipped your order! It’s left our Distribution Center and is currently in transit to your provided shipping address.
- Partially Shipped: Some items in your order have been shipped separately. You can view the full details when you click on the order number.
- Delivered: Your order has been delivered.
- Partially Delivered: Some items in your order have been delivered. You can view the full details when you click on the order number.
- Returned:Returned: We received your returned order and processed it at our returns facility. A credit will appear on your original method of payment.
- Partially Returned: We received and processed some of the items in your order at our returns facility. A credit will appear on your original method of payment.
- Canceled: We canceled your order. Please refer to your email cancellation notice for more details.
- Partially Canceled: We canceled some of the items in your order. Please click the order number for more details.
Frequently Asked Questions
Delayed Orders
What are the reasons that cause an order to be delayed?
- General Delays: The shipment is late/delayed due to operating conditions.
- Weather Delays: The shipment is late due to weather delays.
- Tendered Late: The shipment was received after the latest pick up time for the service requested.
- Scheduled Next Day: The delivery attempt was unable to be made and has been pushed to the next day.
- Damaged: One of the items in the shipment is missing/damaged.
How will I know if my order is delayed?
The best way to track an order status is to sign into your MyAcademy account at MyAcademy Account Sign In | Academy Sports + Outdoors. The Purchase History & Purchase Details will reflect text when an item or order has been delayed.
If you are opted into our transactional messaging or SMS, you will also receive email updates and text messages throughout your order.
Why is my order delayed?
If the expected delivery date has passed, keep in mind that weather, traffic, and more can cause delivery delays. Most late packages will arrive within 24 to 48 hours of the expected delivery date. If the order has already been shipped, you won’t be able to cancel it. Please reference the Return Policy for more information if you no longer need the item(s).
Partial Order Delivery
My order was partially delivered. Why did this happen?
In order to meet our delivery timelines as frequently as possible, some orders are split into multiple shipments. These items can come from one or multiple stores, a drop shipping vendor, or a Distribution Center. It is possible for one or multiple shipments within an order to be delayed. Most late packages will arrive within 24 to 48 hours of the expected delivery date. If the order has already been shipped, you won’t be able to cancel it. Please reference the Return Policy for more information if you no longer need the item(s).
When can I expect the rest of my order?
When an order is delayed, the estimated delivery will be updated within the Order Details that can be found here: Academy Sports + Outdoors | Quality Sporting Goods | Top Hunting, Fishing & Outdoor Gear. You can also find these details via the Email/SMS that are sent if you have opted into the transactional messages.
