Excellent rod and reel combo for the money

Its one of the rods i always have in my SUV (along with my short dock fishing rod) because I can catch all the fish i fish for with this combo, Trout, Crappie, Bass and Catfish and I don't have to worry about it getting banged around. Its sensitive enough for small pan fish and strong enough for Bass and catfish. I've used live bait and artificial and always with braided line and florocarbon leaders that i change depending on what Im fishing for. I ... have an expensive 7ft 4 inch KVD Tour Spinning Rod and T40 Carbon Reel and the Mitchell is heavier but not by much so its very light and comfortable when casting all day. I liked it so much I bought a second one.

Best combo for the money.
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Yeoman8 months agoI read these reviews about the rods breaking and I simply don't understand what the customers are doing wrong. I have now been using the Mitchell combos for 8 years and haven't broke one rod yet. I've broke numerous equivilant priced rods. (Berkley Lightning rods) I fish about 40 days a year - both casting and drifting for walleye. I wanted a combo that I would allow my kids to use so I'm obviously not going to buy a bunch of Loomis rods for them. I am currently placing an order for 6 new ... combos which should last me another 6 years. Eventually, the reels start squeaking and feeling rough. The rods eventually start losing their spine so they start feeling like a lightweight rod. But for the money, they are great. I would highly recommend them.

Matrix Shad
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.perryrip4 years agoI've been using Matrix shad for over a year now on the Georgia Coast and it is the best paddle tail lure I've used and I've used them all. It has great tail action, is very tough, and very effective for trout, flounder and reds on the GA coast. My most productive colors are green hornet, lemon head, ultraviolet, and midnight express. I used it this afternoon and caught 11 trout on one green hornet lure and it's still fully functional for continued use.

You can fish it on bottom or under a cork for very good results. Speckle trout love it. "BUY THIS BAIT, YOU WILL CATCH MORE FISH EVERY TIME YOUR ON THE WATER."

Good Overall Panfish Lure

I use a 1/16 oz head for crappie and a 1/8 oz roadrunner head for walleye. When walleye fishing I tip the jig with nightcrawler.

I've caught more big fish during tournaments on this lure than any other lure I have in my arsenal. Great hooks, soft body, great hook set ability, and good walking action. All around great frog.

A high value frog!
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.bassnbrim2 years agoBooyah has a real winner with it's Padcrasher series. Not only are the Padcrashers fish catching machines, but they are also considerably less expensive than the other brands such as Spro. My personal best bass (9lb-15oz.) was caught this spring on a Bullfrog colored Padcrasher. The only two improvements I would suggest are to cut off 1/2 to 1 inch of the legs and open up the gap of the hooks (which are Gamakatsu by the way) to increase the strike to hook up ratio. I have a padcrasher that has ... caught over 75 bass and it is still going strong.

I fish freshwater for multiple species and with this tackle bag I have room for many different categories of tackle, accessories, and line. The line hole in front of the bag is great for respooling.

non advertised use
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.paul8083 years agoI'm using this not as advertised. I'm using this to pick up leaves around my plants. Tired of reaching down to pick them up and tired of using a single spike.. kept on missing the leaves. With this thing, I don't have to be accurate. I did have to grind down the barb as they made removing the leaves from the prong more difficult. My neighbors are happier that I don't have to use my gas blower as often.
