Academy Sports + Outdoors adds Owasso store; brings over 100 new jobs
KATY, TEXAS (September 18, 2015) – Academy, Ltd. (d/b/a Academy Sports + Outdoors), a

opens its third store in the Memphis area and sixth store in the state. The 63,000 square foot
store brings over 100 new jobs to the community and is located at 5075 Goodman Rd.
“Academy Sports + Outdoors is excited to continue our expansion in the Memphis area and the
state of Mississippi with the opening of our new store in Olive Branch,” said Gabe Thornton,

sells hunting and fishing licenses.
Prior to opening, the store donated $100 Academy Sports + Outdoors gift cards to 30 members
of the Olive Branch Family YMCA to be the store’s first customers and shop for anything they
like during this private shopping event.
On Friday, September 25, the Olive Branch community is invited to join in for a three-day grand
opening celebration. The free event includes giveaways, interactive demonstrations by brands
sold at Academy Sports + Outdoors, games for the whole family, and more. In addition to the
numerous events are line up and wins for Academy mystery gift cards, free Under Armour TShirts
and Berkley tackle bags.
