All products are Sezzle eligible, with the exception of gift cards and eGift cards.
Orders may appear as pending on your Sezzle account until they have been shipped and finalized by Academy Sports + Outdoors. As Academy Sports + Outdoors fulfills orders and cancels or adjusts any order totals, it may take time for changes to be reflected within your Sezzle account. Your original payment plan with Sezzle is then reduced by the amount of the adjustment and is reflected within your Sezzle account.
As it processes and fulfills orders placed using Sezzle, there may be circumstances where Academy Sports + Outdoors may need to cancel or adjust order totals. If Academy Sports + Outdoors needs to cancel or adjust any order totals, it may take time for such changes to be reflected within your Sezzle account. The initial purchase attempt will be pending for up to 7 days. If an order placed using Sezzle has been changed or refunded and Academy Sports + Outdoors is able to issue a refund to the original form of payment, it may take up to 7 days for the appropriate changes or refunds to be reflected in Sezzle.
Any Academy Sports + Outdoors purchase refunded to your Sezzle account will always cancel outstanding payments first. After those payments are canceled, if you are due any money back to your original payment method, the refunded amount will appear on your account within 10 business days after receiving the refund email from Sezzle. Any refunds made to a credit or debit card in your Sezzle account will be sent back to the original form of payment (i.e., the same card) used to make the purchase. If you used multiple payment methods to pay off the installments, you may receive multiple refunds for the same order, one for each payment method used.
If you use the Pay-in-Full feature to pay for your order and the order is returned with a receipt or canceled, the refund amount issued by Academy Sports + Outdoors will be returned to the original payment method in your Sezzle account.
When Academy Sports + Outdoors issues you a refund through a different payment method (i.e. PayPal) or issues store credit (in the event of a return without a receipt), no changes are made to your Sezzle installment plans. You have directly borrowed the money from Sezzle to make the purchase, and you still need to repay Sezzle for that loan. For example, if you placed a $100 order with Sezzle and paid a $25 down payment, but then you get a refund from Academy for $100, you still owe Sezzle the remaining $75. The proceeds from the Academy refund payment should be used to repay Sezzle. In the event you are refunded through a different payment method, when you pay off the remaining Sezzle balance there is a convenience fee accessed by Sezzle per the Sezzle terms and conditions.
When Academy Sports + Outdoors cancels or refunds an order to your Sezzle account, your payment plan will be updated automatically, and we will send you an email detailing exactly what’s changed. Until you get notified of confirmation of a refund from Academy Sports + Outdoors, AND confirm that Sezzle has received those funds, it is possible that you will see Sezzle continue collecting payments per Sezzle’s user agreement. This is why it’s important to always monitor the status of your order cancellations or refunds carefully until the entire process is complete.

Sezzle considers various factors during the approval process to determine your estimated spending power. Sezzle Pay in 4 is available on purchases as low as $20 and up to $2,500.
As part of the application process with Sezzle, you will choose a payment method that will be charged 25% of the transaction at checkout. Subsequent payments of 25% every two weeks for a total of six weeks (or until 100% of the loan is repaid) will be applied to your chosen payment method. You must be 18 years of age or older, have a U.S. phone number that can receive SMS messages, have a valid email address, and have a payment method available (bank account, debit card, or credit card). Prepaid cards cannot be used for any payment. Make sure all your account information is accurate. For example, entering nicknames, the wrong birth date, or misspelling your name can cause you to be declined for orders.
You are unable combine Sezzle with other payment methods; however, you can use promo codes and other applicable discounts when paying with Sezzle. Promo codes and other discounts must be applied in advance of using Sezzle as a payment method.
In the event your order is declined while using Sezzle, please contact Sezzle customer support. Some possible reasons for declines can be because you extended beyond your Sezzle spending power, provided inaccurate information during your Sezzle account creation, or used an expired or invalid payment method on your Sezzle account.
Sezzle does not impact your credit score. Sezzle may validate your credit history to determine your spending power, but that has no effect on your credit score. If you choose to enroll in Sezzle Up, our optional credit reporting program, Sezzle will report your payments to credit reporting bureaus, allowing the opportunity to build credit. You do not need to sign up for Sezzle Up to use Sezzle at Academy Sports + Outdoors.
