How to Buy a Suppressor

1. Choose a Suppressor at a participating Academy Sports + Outdoors location.
2. Create Silencer Shop profile on the Silencer Shop Kiosk located in-store near the gun counter.
3. Submit your fingerprints using the Kiosk.
4. Submit a passport style photo using the Kiosk, your Cell Phone, or Firearm Counter Tablet.
5. Select “Individual” or a “Trust” type to register your suppressor.
6. Create your ATF eForms profile with the exact same name and email used for your Silencer Shop profile.
7. Certify the National Firearm Act (NFA) Form 4 via the certified link sent by Silencer Shop.
8. Wait for your Form 4 to be approved by the ATF. Approval wait time is in line with current ATF processing times.
9. Return to the store once you have been notified of your Form 4 ATF approval.
10. Complete the standard ATF Form 4473.
11. Purchase the suppressor.
