Jeep Girl from
Adequate Mid-range LockThis cable lock was purchased to secure my bicycle during brief stops. A determined thief could cut through it with bolt cutters but I don't intend to use it while my bicycle is unattended for long periods of time. The coiled cable is stiff and unwieldy so it takes some work to get the bicycle secured.
The dials are plastic but the mechanism is metal. It is easy to set. Simply rotate the setting dial on the end in the direction of the arrow, arrange the dials in your chosen 4 digit pin and rotate the setting dial back.
I've owned other locks in the past that functioned similarly to this one and I don't find it any more difficult to operate than average. You have to wiggle the male end back and forth some to engage and disengage it in the receiver. Since the cable is stiff it requires two hands for operation.
I bought two and both function as designed. Therefore I could recommend this cable lock for briefly securing items.

UNUSABLEI bought this because the combination is changeable, but the cable is coiled so tight that it can not be placed around the bikes or to wrap around the bike to carry it. And claiming that it is 5' long is a joke. I couldn't stretch (uncoil) it to 5' no matter how hard I tried.

Cheap construction, did not work on receiptThe male part of the lock insert got stuck on first use so I never got to actually use this before returning, but I did notice cheap plastic parts used on the female side that were to be used to set the code. 0/10 would not recommend.
