We love our bike!My husband and I are really enjoying our Xterra recumbent bike. It was fairly easy to put together but took a little patience though. We had decided ahead of time after reading all the reviews that we would just take our time getting it together. It took a couple of hours but all went well. I don't think that I could have done it by myself though. It takes a lot of strength but at 70 I thought we did really well. The only problem that we are having is with the pulse rate indicator. It works great for my husband but not for me. I'm holding the hand bar correctly so I'm thinking it's just not being able to pick up my heart beat in my hand. But otherwise it's a great machine and we really like it.

Worth A Few Dollars More For This OneI wanted a well built, reliable machine that wouldn't break the bank. I am happy with what I bought.
Assembly went well and I did most of it by myself. Wife only had to help hold LCD display while I hooked up all wires and bolted to the frame. Everything else is easily done by one person. I assembled it in halves (front half and then back half) and did not follow steps in instructions. If you assemble it in halves you can tilt the bigger parts in any direction to make assembly easier. If you follow the steps in the instructions you will need to be a contortionist to stand on your head upside down to put some fasteners in.
Unfortunately the whole LCD display was bad out of the box. The factory took care of that and got a replacement sent quickly.
The LCD display is important because the bike will be useless without it.It requires that you plug it into a wall outlet. The cord is about 6 ft long and attaches to the front floor stabilizer bar. The display is large enough to see and easy to read. It allows you to select programs that simulate different styles of cycling routines. All it does is vary the amount of resistance on the enclosed flywheel that makes pedaling easier or harder.. It says it has the ability to create your own programs but I haven't tried that yet. Without electricity and the ability to use the LCD display you cannot adjust the resistance and so it free wheels only and would be of no use to most persons. You can adjust the timer to count down or up. Instructions for using the LCD display are horrible. You pretty much need to play with it to figure out how things work. Once you have it figured out it works pretty well. It displays speed, time, Calories burned, distance, and hopefully heart rate ( the heart rate feature worked for 2 days and hasn't worked since. Most reviews on all other bikes with this feature said the same thing).
This bike is heavy duty. It weighs about 50% more than most others. It is well constructed and very stable (no side to side movement). The parts fit together easily which made assembly a blast. It is not as easy to move around as you might like. The transport wheels are a joke (useless). If you need to move it around frequently you may need help. If you try to move it yourself, it is heavy enough that it could tear carpet or scratch hard floors.
I'm 6 ft tall and the back rest is adequate to support my back (another 2-3 inches taller would have been nice). The seat has adequate padding and is comfortable for longer rides and is more padded than most I tried. The way the seat is designed makes pedalling easier.
This bike is EXTREMELY quiet. My wife can sleep in the next room and she never knows I'm there. She can watch videos in the same room and not be disturbed at all.
Overall I'm very satisfied with this bike. It is heavy duty and well built. It functions as it should. It is comfortable to ride. I feel it is worth the extra $100.00 you may have to pay over some of the lesser models. I tried out a number of the lesser models but they were very uncomfortable and not as well made.

Small pedalsThe pedals are too small. I had to replace them. I am 73" tall and weigh 210 lbs. My shoe size is 10 1/2. My age is 79.

pain in the butt to install, finished product okthe instructions are terrible. for example they tell you to hook up multiple wires at the same time but don't tell you which colors go where. it was really hard to line up some of the holes. finished product shakes despite re-tightening screws by a strong guy with my personal tools. the resistnces are a good range that should work for everyone. the digital interface is easy to use.

Great ChoiceAfter reviewing many bikes I choose this one because I am very happy with my Xterra elliptical machine and the adjustable seat on this bike. As expected it has a very smooth flywheel and the bike is well balanced so there is no wobbling. Takes about 2 hours to assemble and instructions are pretty easy. I am very happy with this decision. Xterra has impressed me with their quality.

Nice surpriseAfter toiling over which bike to get, I am glad I made this choice. I am 268 pounds and so the weight limitation was a big factor in determining which bike I was going to buy.
The packaging was secure, all the the parts were carefully wrapped. Assembly took me 1.5 hours and that was with having to redo one step (forgot to put the mast cover on). They had little touches that made it go quicker: a pull line for pulling the cable through, pre-installed bolts. With the pre-installed bolts, there is no chance of you choosing the wrong bolt/washer/nut combination from a stack of parts normally given to a consumer in an "assemble-yourself" product.
The only thing I had a problem with was the one seat bolt on the front-left hand side, the release mechanism for the seat to slide sits almost directly underneath the mounting hole, so some extra effort (like maybe an extra 5 minutes) was required to get this particular one locked down.
First use was everything I had hoped it to be. Extremely easy to read display, plenty of information, accurate heart rate monitor, and a wide variety of workouts to choose from.
Moving it is easy with the wheels on the front stabilizer. And again, for a guy my size, there was no embarassing side to side movement that you might get with a smaller less stable unit. Very, Very pleased about that. It is also very quiet while in operation.
