Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great tent but horrible poles I've used my tent a total of 6 times in every season. The last time I used it a pole section splintered into 6 different pieces longways. Love the tent just wish the poles weren't so inferior.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy this tent. Same as everyone has said. Rear pole broke on the first night I used it. Seems like in order to save weight they cheaped on the polls. Save yourself the trouble

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The fiberglass poles break easily The fiberglass poles both broke on me the second time I set the tent up. Finding replacement poles is a pain.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worthless poles make for a worthless tent Before buying this tent for a bike tour I had read the reviews. There were a lot of statements about pole breakage, but I'd owned the Eureka Timberline years before and was thoroughly happy with it. So I took a chance on this tent. Bad mistake. The first pole sectional broke on use #8. I had already contacted Eureka and asked if I could have a replacement pole set before I was going to need it due to what many people said. I was informed that the company would only send one replacement. Well, when it broke, I asked for it. It was sent, but strangely, perhaps because I raised heck about how a company could produce such an inferior product, I was also offered the Spitfire instead. This made no sense - offer a tent worth double the price instead of just improving what is a major flaw with the Solitaire thus losing business. I was also informed that if I didn't want that, I could contact a certain company which specifically makes quality replacement poles for this tent... at half the price of the tent! Welcome to Eureka. By usage #20, 3 other sections had broken. I had kept the original pole set so I could use the sections as replacements (think McGyver), but now I was out (all breaks always occurred with the rear pole). I now have a tent which only uses the front pole. Utterly useless when it rains and spaciousless for general use. Will never buy from Eureka again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from tent poles break easily! Set up the tent to seam seal it and both poles broke! Have yet to climb into this tent for the time. Sent the two poles back for replacement and they sent me only one pole. I can't recommend this tent to anyone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I really want to like this tent, but... This is such a good looking and stow-able tent, and the perfect asset for my motorcycle camping. I really, really want to like it, BUT there are two big issues: 1. On the second outing with my Solitaire, the shorter tent pole snapped! This wasn't during setup, or in high winds, but while the tent was sitting there in the campsite. I've now read at least two reviews from other customers who also warned of this issue. Had I read their reviews prior to purchase, I would have assumed they just lacked skills, or were too ham-fisted, but from my own experience, I know neither of these to be true. The poles are just too wimpy! 2. Even worse than a broken tent pole, the Solitaire's entry has a huge vulnerability when it comes to ants. Whereas the rest of the tent's stitching seems solid and impervious to bugs, the entryway flap is a combination of a horizontal zipper and vertical zipper that meet at the base of the tent, just a few inches off the ground. This "meeting" leaves a gap so big you can stick your pinky finger through it. On my first night, after waking to discover ants tracking the inside walls, I literally followed them back to this spot and spent the rest of the night watching them enter and exit through this hole. This occurred on both nights/trips, despite my attempts to encircle the tent with talcum powder, and invoking a no food or liquid inside the tent policy. Had the manufacturer put a little more thought and testing into it, gone with a single zipper that could be zipped up to the top of the tent, I think the situation would be vastly improved.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little tent I bought this last year and used it to camp at Canyonlands NP and Monument Valley. Easy to setup in 10 min or so. A Coleman slim twin camping air mattress fits in the tent just fine. The only down side was me. I'm big guy and is a bit of a hassle getting in and out of it compared to a dome tent. I'd back into it on hands and knees. Tricoidal01You can step into it from the top with the zipper open and rain fly retracted but on a moonless night or with out a flashlight or after a few drinks stepping into it from the top is NOT a good idea
