Laser Not adjusted inline with bore - but fixableLIGHTLY chuck ANY boresight in cordless drill and rotate while projecting laser on a wall if its making circles vs a single red dot then the bore probe is NOT inline with laser and an issue.Get yourself another one and save yourself the hassle .BUT It really is easily adjusted in about 10mins though.
Adjust setcrew pairs 90 degrees from eachother
KEEP track of which setscrews you are designating x and y axis.
They ARE NOT spring loaded like a Scope loosen one side and SNUG up other side to take up play. I could not return mine as it was a gift and to late to return Soo
I personally dumped the probe/o-ring setup and went to a magnetic mount
Remove battery endcap lightly draw across 200+ sandpaper to remove black and true surface - perpendicular to laser body .Remove endcap and reinstall as often as necessary till its perfect . Use a plain old metal tri-square to perfection - zero tolerance NO daylight .
Then superglue a high-power magnet on end(a good nickel sized silver one from magnetic flashlight et)
On a glass table rotate in place keeping track of adjustment screws while projecting on ceiling . It should be fairly perfect by now . Fine tune and Adjust setscrews for X and Y 90 degrees to center laser so spinning results in a nonmoving red dot .
Note - Higher the ceiling the better obviously .
If you have a perfectly flat headed 1/4 bolt - chuck that in a cordless drill and stick laser to it That works too.
You MUST LOOSEN setscrew before tightening the opposite side like a X-Mas tree stand so you don't crush the laser . 1/32 turn loosen other side 1/32 turn take up play . So- barely- loosen -barely -snug . It wont take much to adjust - Once done pretty much forget about ever adjusting again.
End of barrel is always machined true perpendicular to bore so end of barrel is perfect for magnetic boresights .
Just my $0.02

Do not buyI bought this on sale thinking I was getting a deal. No deal!!. The rubber arbors would not stay put and the laser would wobble in the end of my gun barrel. The laser works great on it but the rubber arbors do not work as advertised.

Poor productI bought this particular model because it was the only one I could find that would fit a .17 HMR. I knew I had made the wrong purchase once I saw the instructions had a line that read, "The laser boresighter should project a laser dot that is centered. Should the dot be off-center, use the included allen wrench to fine tune the centering of laser." And of course the one I bought was not centered so I called the company and they told me "well that happens a good bit in shipment" the representative even told me " It is a very tedious process the center the laser but you can do it if you have enough time". The one I bought could have been a fluke but if you are buying a laser boresight to center a scope one would expect the laser to be centered and not have to adjust that too! Needless to say I just ended up doing it the old fashion way by looking down the bore and shooting a couple of times until it was dead on, That was after I used the laser to adjust the scope and wasted a good bit of time and ammo. I would suggest a different product for the money based off my experience.
