Had to return two bikes because of knocking noiseThe bike looks great. Shifts smooth after I spent some time tuning it up.
But there was clucking knocking noise coming from rear cassette/freehub.
Both bikes that I tried had the same problems. And it was not rubbing chain agains gears.
Would recommend to take a precise look at the bike before buying it. I had to return it and get my money back.

Amazing hybrid bike at an amazing priceI purchased this bike to jump into the hybrid cycling scene. This beast has not let me down. As it states in the manual, the bike does require initial adjustment for performance and safety. Due to my previous knowledge, rather than taking it to a local shop, I adjusted the bike myself. Any bike from any big box store will have it's issues since they are all assembled by anyone. The front derailleur was perfect, but the rear derailleur was a little ahead of itself. My bike would simply not adjust to the lowest gear. With a small adjustment to the barrel adjuster, my bike easily cycled through all the gears quietly and smoothly. The trigger shifters are worlds better than the twist.
Once fully adjusted, this bike is the best I have ever owned. Smooth quiet shifting and decent braking performance. I feel safe and in control when hitting corners. I have to admit, it picks up speed quite quickly with the hybrid tires.
Overall I am very happy and obsessed with my purchase. The paint job is eye-catching and spots for accessories are limitless. Easy flexibility and top notch equipment at this price range. The only piece of advice is to check the bike thoroughly at the store. Go in with a little knowledge of the important moving parts on a bike. Also check for scratches and dings as the display bikes are not handled too well.

Truly multi-purpose with updated features to boot. After looking hundreds of bikes through all the big box stores and a couple of specialty bike stores, this is the only good looking multi-purpose bike that offered the 18 speeds, front & back disk brakes and forked suspension for a reasonable price. At 5' 5", most of my previous bikes were smaller (therefore slower) bikes. For this 700c size bike I adjusted the seat close to the lowest setting for optimum leg extension. The angled middle bar enables me to straddle over a leaning bike while waiting for traffic lights. My partner, at 6', also fits the bike well so I went back to the store and bought a second duplicate bike. Since it's still a standard sized men's bike frame, shorter riders, like me, will benefit from a bit more leg power to get it started or you can mount the bike from behind.
If you ever bring this bike back for adjustments, make sure the service tag details your all your concerns to the tech including a parking lot test instead of just spinning the wheels on a stand. The price is about half of what it cost in a fancy bike stores so it's not going to come with 5-star service. :)

Fantastic Bike for decent price!Bought this bike since I didn't want to spend a great deal of money on a first bike to ride a lot as an adult but didn't want to buy a cheap $100 bike either. The disc brakes work amazing and shifting through the gears was simple and smooth. It rides and coasts incredibly smooth. I am excited to use it more.
The seat is very uncomfortable but that's probably true for all bikes like this. Just take $10 and buy a seat cover and you'll be very thankful.

Good parts, but.......Got 2 of these from academy. I had trouble with running through the gears on both bikes. Rode the first one for about an hour and it wouldn't shift into the 2nd front gear. Even when you pedaled it it clicked in the gears constantly. I took it back and exchanged it for another of the same bike. Upon a 3 mile ride the chain came off twice and when I tried to again shift into the 2nd front gear it made an awful noise and broke 3 teeth off the sprocket. I believe you could buy this bike and take it to a bike shop and have it tuned up professionally and it would be fine. But after spending $279 then $60-$70 for a tune up I could buy a Giant or Trek for that price from a bike shop that's already dialed in. I will be taking the second bike back and getting my money back this time. This bike has quality parts on it, but usually buying from a department store they know how to take it out of the box and assemble it that's it. If you want a bike you can buy off the rack and take for a long ride the same day without doing anything extra to it don't buy this bike.
