CDS is AWESOME!!!
I bought this scope to mount on a .257 Weatherby Magnum and it complements the rifle well. Went to Wyoming for deer and antelope and knocked the down @3 to 400 yards. The CDS was amazing to use. We hunted earlier morning and late afternoon and the low light was great, at 3-400 yards I could see what I wanted to hit. Great product !!!

Can you provide a picture and description of how the In-scope cant indicator works.

I'd be happy to help. When the cant indicator on the VX-6 HD is turned on, the illumination of the reticle will flash up and down in brightness until the scope (and rifle) is held perfectly level. At this point, the illumination will stop blinking and go to a solid brightness. Unfortunately a picture won't capture this, but I will make the recommendation that we get a video of it produced ASAP.

Where can I find detailed explanations of the different reticles and how they are meant to be used?

Any of our scopes with reticles with specific functions will ship with a manual for the reticle, usually separate from the scope manual. We have these available under the Downloads tab of each scope on the website. For more specific info, give us a call at 1-800-LEUPOLD and we can discuss the functionality of any of our reticles.

The spec sheet for the scope says that there is 68MOA of available adjustment, however there are only 38MOA of elevation using the CDS locking dial supplied. How do you utilise the remaining 30MOA?
Hello Reaper,
68 MOA is the total internal adjustment of the scope (top-to-bottom), while 38 MOA is what is accessible in the up direction on the Zero-Lock dial after zeroing the rifle. You have the full 68MOA available to zero the rifle, then up to a maximum of 38MOA to use for bullet drop if the scope still has that much internal Up adjustment after zeroing.

Are any of the parts that go into the making of your products imported from outside of the US?

All components used in our rifle scopes are manufactured in the United States, with the exception of lenses. Our lenses are imported from Europe and Asia as there are no U.S. based lens manufacturers who can produce the quantity and quality that we demand for our products.

can low rings be used or are med. rings required

When mounting a VX-6/ VX-6HD 3-18X44mm a Medium height 30mm ring is the lowest you can use.
Even if the objective clears the barrel, you will find clearance issues between the rear of the base and the PSR Power Selector Ring.
