I am using a STD RFV 2 piece mount on my Sauer 100. My scope has a 50mm objective and outside diameter of 55mm. Can I use the medium rings or do I need high rings?

What ring height do I need to mount a 50 mm objective lens scope on the leupold std base? The rifle is a 1903A 30-06 Sprg. I already have the std base 49997.
Asked by: Sakook
We generally recommend High height rings for a 50mm objective scope. If your scope has a 1 inch maintube, our STD 1in High rings, part number 49904 would be a great option. If you have a scope with a 30mm maintube our 30mm High rings, part number 49959, would be the way to go.
Thanks for choosing Leupold!

I have a 30.06 Tikka T3 Lite and VXII 40mm 3x-9x scope and purchased STD medium rings (Part 49901). Will the rifle accommodate low rings or will there be clearance issues with that? If it will, what is the part # to make ordering the low rings easier?
Asked by: rgoldbaum
You will likely run into clearance issues using low height rings to mount a 40mm scope. I suggest that you stay with the medium height STD rings, part number 49901.
