Tough cup to put directly in fireI have purchased 3 of these cups for nesting under my 40 0z. Klean Kanteen or 32 oz. Nalgene bottles. In that position they fit perfectly to pack. I found using my measuring cups at home that 16 oz.s, (which is mixture amount for most Mountain House meals) stops in the cup about a mans finger width from top of
cup. Total cup volume to rim is 20 oz. This has turned my cup accidentally into a measuring devise ! The GSI cup is stout for longevity and the handles are longer than prior handles of this type, giving the cup an easy hold. This cup can be directly placed into fire because of it's SS content which saves other fuel. I would urge practice at home prior to your trek to get used to the metal cup which is far hotter than your favorite ceramic mug at home on your lips when sipping morning brews. This takes some teter totter practice. I have seen cup "lips" which mount on the GSI's edge but never in person when shopping. Only positives with this gem and I love mine.
