Im a newbie to disc golfOnly been playing for about a month and I only carry about 6 discs. I bought a 3 pack for ten bucks to start with and its fine since I don't know what I'm doing anyway. I put off buying a bag until seeing if I would keep going. And after about 24-26 times in a month, Id say I've earned a bag. In comparing versus the brand name bags, the others have a ton more reviews and this one only had one. However, I also know that the brand name likely means very little and the $30 academy bag has lots of good reviews. But I don't need a backpack. I cant imagine ever carrying that many discs. My primary reason for the bag was to carry water. When I first got the bag, I washed all 6 of my discs and stuck them in there and was concerned that I didn't think the bag would stand up well. I even considered returning it for that reason. Then, I added a water bottle and that stabilized things a lot. Now, Ive played twice with the bag, about 29 holes. My course only goes to 12. So I play 7-8 holes twice. They are the easier holes plus, mostly in the shade. I will worry about the harder holes when I get better.
So now that Ive used this bag twice, its not returnable which is fine because I think it will serve me well for at least a few years. I guess it will hold 12-16 discs so if I keep adding, I will have room.
The primary reason why I started playing was a half our of walking gets boring and I don't seem to stick with it. With disc golf, its a lot less boring and I have stuck wit it for a month anyway, nearly every day. And about 45-50 minutes means more calories burned.
And, Ive lost some weight. I cant be sure exactly how much because I really don't weigh myself very often but its at least 10 pounds and possibly 15-20. And its noticeable around my stomach.
So I'm happy to have started this hobby. There may be more challenging courses in the metro area but convenience means a lot to me. So I'm probably going to stick to this little 12 round course. Hopefully I can keep the weight off and maybe lose a few more pounds.
My guess is this academy brand is of similar quality as the name brands that have good reviews but its much less costly. The cheapest price for the innova standard bag, which has great reviews is about $29. So this one is much less and it holds more. Plus, I wasn't about to spend $29. But $15, I was and did.

Awesome bagGreat bag and great price, the only reason I didn't give it five stars is because you have to put a lot of discs in it to stabilize the divider.
