Perfect knife for EDC.
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Anonymous2 weeks agoThe knife holds a great edge. It is on the lighter side, so those you like a heavier feeling knife this would not be the knife for you. Those of us who like the light weight this is a great option.

Great product
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Babs4 months agoI bought one for myself and one for my son's girl friend. I bought the brass color one and it blends in with my other keys so no one even know's I have it. I read many reviews before buying and everyone said to stick with SOG and you won't be sorry with the quality. This key knife is very well made and I feel a lot safer now with it, plus it opens boxes and others item great. It's sharp!

Excellent Customer Service
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.John2 years agoOne of the reasons for buying this knife among others was the fact that the clip was reversible for left pocket carry. When I tried to change the clip around I found that the screw that holds it in place was to short to work. I sent an email in to customer service with my concerns over this. I emailed back and forth a couple times that day with Luke in Customer Service and within a couple days I had a screw that was the proper length in my mail box.

Great knife but I have a few complaints
This reviewer rated product 3 out of 5 stars.Dave10663 years agoI bought the knife and right off the bat I loved it. Its a larger knife which works great because I have large hands, so it fits really well. I do have a few complaints however. First while the pocket clip is reversible the screw that holds it in place is too short to screw it in place for left hand carry, and second while only slightly annoying I wish that the switch for the locking mechanism was on both sides to accommodate left handed people like myself. All in all my only major complaint is ... the screw for the pocket clip being too short. If it wasn't for those issued I'd give it 4.5 stars.

Ultra Thin and Very Durable!
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.NickDuz4 months agoI've had my Slim Jim for about 6 months. Although the opening action is a bit stiff, this knife does exactly what I wanted it for - it's a moderately sized pocket knife that I can't even tell is in my pocket. I seriously can't tell its there when clipped inside my pocket, which is perfect. The belt clip is strong and sturdy, the lock is safe, and the blade is very sharp. Only downfall: From day 1, a flick of my thumb only gets it fully open about 25% of the time...which isn't the case with ... some of my other knives. This one often requires me to snap the wrist pretty significantly at the same time. Tried to adjust the screw but felt too stiff was better than too loose. All together, it's a very nice knife.

Not as nice as I expected
This reviewer rated product 3 out of 5 stars.DimHelmet3 years agoI bought this knife to replace my EDC knife, looking for something less bulky. I had a Trident before, and thought of SOG immediately. Perhaps I didn't give it long enough, but the blade is still stiff and difficult to open. The biggest disappointment for me, though, is how difficult it is to engage and disengage the safety. Again, this may improve over usage, but it's sitting on the shelf now in my collection. The blade is very nice--what I've come to expect from SOG.

A lucky find
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.Anonymous9 months agoWhile on a fishing trip recently, we happened upon a sporting goods store to buy some bait and whatnot. I have always been a knife collector, and this trapper series Buck really caught my eye. It's sharp as a mother, and it's a perfect utility size. The only thing that keeps it from a full 5 anvil rating is the way it settles in my pocket. After a few steps the knife will fall to the bottom of my pocket horizontally, which it awkward and uncomfortable. If there was a sheath I could buy it would ... be a full rating. Otherwise, amazing piece of art.

The only knife I have ever carried.
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Anonymous9 months agoI am confident there are many other great knives on the market, but this one is undoubtedly the one for me. I have carried this model exclusively for more than a decade and I keep extras on hand for when I inevitably lose them. Size is just right, and materials are all excellent. Though I am careful to never abuse it, I have never had a problem with durability and the design is just as another reviewer says: a true work of art. The blunt-end blade is my favorite and serves many applications very ... well. The additional pointed-end blade makes for a very versatile knife. Comes out of the packaging very sharp. It's very easy to keep clean and easily to sharpen. Both blades easily fold and unfold. It's actually quite lovely. If you are looking for a very well-made, general purpose pocket knife, I highly recommend this one.

Not bad
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.DanielG2 years agoBought this lil knife its not bad for 5.99. The tip and edge are sharp, but could use some work as it won't shave the hairs off my forearm.

So far not impressed
This reviewer rated product 3 out of 5 stars.DaveC1 year agoOnly used on one doe so far. While doing so the original blade became dull and nicked in a few spots. I have swapped blades, but didn't think one blade per deer was going to be the norm. It was one of two knives in use, so in reality it only field dressed 1/2 a doe. I purchased this knife due to the excellent reviews found on the web. Maybe the replacemnt blade will fair better than the original. I doubt it.

Good Product
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Surveyor6 months agoRegardless of the brand of knife, 2 dulled blades per deer is pretty normal. The nice thing about this product is that you don't have to search a collection of knives to find one sharp enough to do the job. Simply replace the blade. Works for me.

Awesome Knife
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.rdallen5 months agoMy wife and kids bought me this knife in the tan and black colors for Father's Day. It is a heavier EDC knife, but I carry this knife everyday now in my front pocket. The blade was very sharp from the factory (took first blood right out of the box), and keeps and edge very well. I recommend this knife to anyone looking for a good EDC knife that's not going to break the piggy bank too bad.

suprisingly good knife
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Dass4 years agoI purchased one of these for my nephew, who is just at the age for his first woods knife. I wanted to get him a nice knife, but one that if he lost it or broke it, nobody would be devastated. A trapper is about the best sized knife for about anything an outdoorsman needs, IMO, so thats what I wanted to get him. First, I was impressed at the quality. For a inexpensive knife, this is actually a nice little piece. Scales are nice bone, blade had a keen edge. Sheath was well stiched and fit the ... knife snuggly. Again, impressive quality for a cost less than two burger meals. So far he loves it, and has carried it all summer, and used it like a kid will, whittling sticks, cutting bait fish, etc, and it's still doing fine. That says a lot.

It's perfect for me
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Levi6 months agoI didn't expect to love this one, as it's relatively small and uses somewhat entry level materials, but I do. The "plastic" handles are actually fantastic and have grip for days. Blade steel is the ole' tried and true 154cm which has never let me down. Axis lock is addicting to play with, I find myself flipping this one open and closed a TON.

This is a No Brainer- Sharp Blades Start to Finish
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Surveyor6 months agoThe last buck I cleaned and quartered dulled 2 knives. There has to be a better way. I bought one of these and 2 days later killed a doe. By the time skinning was done, 1 blade was dull- as usual- so I replaced the blade. I used the new blade for gutting and quartering. Its still sharp to be used, but why? Simply replace the blade and you are good to go for another deer. So instead of going trough a whole collection of knives to find one sharp enough to do the job, I use 2 disposable ... blades. Yeah. This is a No Brainer.

Excellent knife
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Scattamack2 years agoAbsolutely love this knife. This is my first Benchmade. Most of my knives are American the rest are Finnish and Scandinavian. I always thought Benchmade was a bandwagon fan company, NOW I know Benchmade is a top shelf American knife company. Most US knife companies have moved over to China or Taiwan and don't tell you (keep it off packaging and websites) or they make limited models in America. This a top class knife; built solid but light and sharp out of the box. Awesome!!!!
