As Versatile as it gets!
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Captain Ed5 months agoI was looking for a rod that would be sensitive enough for bass fishing but durable enough for shark fishing. This rod is it! I have caught everything from 1 pound bass to 5 foot blacktip sharks on this same rod. I also love that it is a 6'6" and one piece. Not a fan of two piece rods and hate having that loop of line get caught on the end of a 7 foot rod. Perfect size, strength and durability to handle almost anything. I have 4 on my charter boat and they get put to the test!

Strong and dependable
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Jonathon2 years agoI've used open face reels for the longest but wanted a good spincast like dad and I used back in the day. I paired this with the Pflueger Trion 10SCB, which is a $70 combo and well worth it. I miss these spin cast reels and use it quite often now. Ugly Stick is known to be strong and dependable, great rods and no since to spend a crazy amount of money when you can get these at such a good price.

Great as always
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.T1233 years agoI always have liked Ugly stik, and the GX2 no exception. Gave the 7' and the 6' a little overhand swing in the aisle, and the 6' is more easy to control with one hand, but I could definitely tell there was more power in the 7' with two hands. Went with the 6' because it felt better balanced, and love it. I'm going to end up getting a 7' too. I was especially happy with the guides; safe for braid, and don't corrode in salty water!

Ugly stick gx2 heavy
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Joey795 months agoI have been buying ugly stick products for close to 20 years now my go to rod this gx2 heavy action 6'6 is a solid piece I wish more stores stocked those rods I'll just have to order more through online. I had one wasteful complaint I ordered a rod and got a free spoon lure the warehouse packed a lure smaller than my hand in a medium size box when could have just placed in huge box rod came in no since in wasting boxes

Nice convenient rod.
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Anonymous2 weeks agoI used it for opening weekend of trout season in NJ. I mounted a 33 on it and set up a slip bobber rig using a gizmo bobber stop. Caught 4 nice rainbows. The rod handled very well and being telescopic it compacts so nicely and I can take it anywhere. So far so good.

Excellent rod with excellent warranty.
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.R Pearson1 week agoHave three of these now, and have broken one under conditions that would’ve broken most any rod in my arsenal. As inconvenient as it is I always have back ups with me have three of these now, and have broken one under conditions that would’ve broken most any rod in my arsenal. As inconvenient as it is I always have back ups with me or just sort of an occasion. Nice thing is academy is just a short drive away and are very serious about packing their products. I will continue to use though I am ... no professional it is lightweight well-balanced and very sensitive when using top water or different rubs are worms. Couldn’t be happier academies customer service. That alone is worth a little inconvenience if that were the case but as it is I’ve use these rods for over a year and a half now and they are excellent.

Amazing rod!
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Dildymac9 months agoMy girlfriend bought me this rod along with an Abu Garcia Revo s. It's amazing!!! This rod became my all time favorite rod. I have some Abu Garcia veritos 2.0s and there really good but this rod works extremely well with chatter baits!!! Caught my personal best 1 month after I got this rod on it. 8lbs. You honestly can't go wrong with this rod. I'm getting another one just for chatter baits. And the price......can't beat for a rod this good. Tight lines!

Chris Lane Winner
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.DragBurner4 years agoI thought I would try one of these since seeing Chris Lane whacking them on the St. John's river. These are really nice rod, they are light and seem strong too. Haven't fished too much but with what I have done I have been very satisfied. Keep up the good work All Star!

Sensitive and strong!
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Justin L1 year agoI've taken this on a couple fishing expeditions and have been impressed with how light and sensitive a medium/heavy rod from g. Loomis can be! Have confidence on this purchase if you are on the fence. Super happy with the rod and it was shipped secure and on time.

Best rod ever
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Gulf Coast angler2 years agoI've had this rod for about a month or so and fished it very often. It is amazingly sensitive and well built. Everything you expect from g. Loomis but for about 200 bucks. I have the medium fast 6'6" and it cast as well as my 7 footers. If you have the money get one. If not, save then get one!

strong light and very sensitive.
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.simple fisherman1 year agoHard to find on the shelves, 6'8 med. action. If your serious about bass fishing this little jewel will surprise you. I've landed numerous bass over 5 with it and one day dragging a worm caught a slimy old flat head I estimate at around 30lbs. and i thought it was going to break, bent it in two but never broke. 2 of my friends picked them up after that and can't stop talking about the thing.

Best rod for the price
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Chucky place2 years agoFor the money as long as you don't lose the rod or academy doesn't stop selling it, it should be the last rod you have to buy with their full no questions asked lifetime warranty. What makes it better is if they don't have that rod in stock they give you store credit for another one of your choice. What you have to lose.

Great Value
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.JakeNeil2 years agoAt $99.00 this rod can be referred to as excellent, especially when considering it has Winn grips and MicroWave guides. The medium/ moderate action allows for the long distance casting of spoons and live shrimp and has just enough backbone for hook setting. It would also be a great choice for crankbaits or pulling double duty as a popping rod. My only complaint is that it is not actually offered in a fast action, which would be a better fit when throwing tops and tails.

This a can cast anything from 1/8-7/8oz a country mile. These rods cast great with any reel. Line runs smooth threw the guides. It works any style lure. It also has alot of back bone. Love it.

Great rod!
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.boycot197010 months agoPurchased 2 of these last month for bass fishing. Absolutely love them both.Very sensitive tips with a strong backbone for pulling bass from the heavy cover and pads. Can't beat the exchange policy on H2O rods and reels. I take pretty good care of my rods/reels, but they occasionally have broken over the years. I've returned them to Academy and had them replaced---no questions asked.
