Almost lost itThis is just one mans experience, but thought I would pass it on. I installed the Starfire with the set screws as per the instructions and took the boat out two days later and almost lost the foil. It came loose and slid back and the prop chewed up the bottom side. When I got back to the house I went ahead and put the two bolts in. Now it is much more secure and I don't think I'll have to worry about it falling off and loosing it. Now with that said , I did find that I got up on plane faster and picked up 3 mph on top end. I would recommend , but I do recommend that you use the optionnal bolts. I installed this on a 70HP Johnson. Maybe other outboards it will fit better. Who knows till you try it. Just my two cents.

Does what it said it wouldUsed on a 90hp Etec, very very tight fit, had to use rubber mallet and spray lube to get on. Would have given 5 stars but the no drill method not so great, the coupling pulled without much pressure. So I used the drill method, and got lucky that the StingRay work like it said. My boat got up on plane in a 1/3 of the time, gained about 4mph top end, and rode much smoother in rough water. Not sure about
