Rated 2 out of 5 by from It's ok I bought one and had to return it because the barrel wouldn't open. The second one operates fine but the sight won't adjust down or to the left enough to zero in. I bought a lazer sight but the front sight was too tall to let the lazer get to center so the front sight had to be cut off. The trigger could be smoother. It's really gritty and jerky even after some adjustment. It's not a serious target pistol. On a rest, the best groups at 15 yards with a lazer sight was still 1" or better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun to shoot. First air pistol and so far love it. This pistol likes the Winchester round nose 9.8, Crosman hollow point 7.9 and RWS superdome 8.3 grain pellets. I use the cocking aid which does make it easier to cock. Shoots a little low but groups well, 1.5 - 2 inch, for me. Mainly using for target shooting.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Greg's review on B This pistol is to hard to operate. The Break Barrel takes to much effort to charge. Hope as I use the pistol it will get easier.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a Benjamin This thing is made by crossman. It's not the Benjamin quality I grew up with.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Affordable Nice pistol at affordable price. Shoots well and loads fairly easy with the help of the load assist that is included. As with all break barrels and even stationary ones be aware of the barrel droop. I had to return mine an get another because I wasn't able to zero it in cause the droop was too severe to make adjustments on rear sights. The second one was just fine and worked great. I would highly recommend this pistol.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Break Barrel Pellet Pistol Under $100 Tested against its twin the Ruger break barrel pellet pistol the Benjamin Trail NP is with out a doubt better. The finish on the metal and plastic and even the breach area is made better. I own this and love it as an air rifle and air pistol enthusiast.

What is the total length of the gun?

Asked by: Merlin Mage

What scope or red dot sight is recommended for this pistol.  The rear sight on mine (new - have shot about 200 rounds thru it)is tilted and the screw is all the way out (gun shot low and can't raise the rear sight any further at 32 foot range target).

My pistol is brand new. What is that little bit of smoke like vapor in the breech after I shoot? Does it have something to do with the nitro piston? Will the piston ever run out of nitro?  Thanks.

Asked by: Benjamin Fan
Hi Benjamin Fan, The Benjamin® Trail NP™ Break-Barrel Air Pistol is Nitro Piston® powered. The nitrogen does not escape when shooting. Basically, a nitro piston gun works the same way as the spring air gun does, but it has nitrogen filled gas ram instead of a coiled spring as the propulsion system. Inside the chamber, there are a nitrogen cylinder and a piston. The nitrogen in the cylinder is already held under pressure and you apply more pressure to it when you cock the gun. The pressurized air is kept under tension until you pull the trigger. When that happens, the gas expands and propels the piston forward. The piston comes rapidly after the air transferred port. The compressed air has nowhere to go but behind the pellet since the chamber is sealed completely. As a result, the pellet is discharged from the barrel due to propellant force of compressed air.

What is Nitro Piston ?

Asked by: PetePistol
Hello Pete Pistol, A "nitro piston" is just a gas piston that is used in place of a mainspring. In general they are considerably quieter and have less vibration than a mainspring.
