Awesome, tough rodHi Joe here, I bought this rod in 2014, I know it is a fresh water rod but I use it for salt water fishing. The last 2 years I caught a lot of trout and red fish with it, the first time out this year 6-11-16 I caught two monster bull red fish, one was 44" and the other was 48" and the rod did not fail me. I though to myself that this rod is bullet poof but I was wrong. I was driving to the fish camp the next week and a car in front of me slammed on the brakes and so did I and the cooler in the back of my truck slid forward and broke my sweet rod in half. I almost stared cry, But I WILL BUY A NEW ONE. Joe L. of Baytown Tx.

Won me overHave been buying Only Tournament Choice 7' Game Day rods. Live on the bayou and have constant visitors who I want to provide a good quality rod and reel as guest to fish as many have never caught a really big red fish or abundant nice speckled trout.
My store has been out of the TS rod; so I found this for the same price. This rod is Great! This is not a knock on the TS rod it is well worth the price as well. This All Star rod is very high quality - one more Fugi eye than the TS and very nice finish.
Another reviewer complained about the Hook Keeper being on top of the rod. I think his rod must have had the keeper bent possibly by store handling as I found the placement easier to use. The keeper is bent almost flat against the rod completely out of possible interference with line feed even when thumbing for cast control.
I will be ordering two more for delivery to my home as my store is a small store and cannot stock all they would like.
ONE GREAT ROD!

allstar series 7ft m spinning rodmy son wanted another pole from allstar classic series, because he landed a 9lb 7 oz largemouth giving him a gold pin for the best largemouth caught for the year, and giving him the second title angler of the year for the state of massachusetts

Love the rod, hate the hook holderI absolutely love the rods casting (I can cast this rod a mile and it is very smooth), the sensitivity (I can very easily tell when my jig is on the bottom vs a bite), and it's overall feel and weight.
My issue, and the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, is the hook holder. It is located on the top of the pole (opposite side from the reel) and is in the shape of the bottom half of an 8, sort of stretched out pointing downward. I use my thumb to hold the line while I am casting. About every fifth cast the line will get caught on this loop and halt the cast. It is annoying as heck and, if using live shrimp, will often cause the bait to come off the hook. It may sound petty, but it is enough to make me go to a different pole. If you use your finger to hold your line while casting, like my wife does, it won't be a problem for you.

I have a rod like this i have not used it in salt water if some one can tell me well it hold a bull red fish?
Asked by: Leroy2695
This rod would be better used for regular redfish or slot reds that are less than 28 inches long. For bull reds, a heavier duty rod is recommended such as the Shakespeare® Ugly Stik 6' Freshwater Casting Rod (SKU# 0005893284).
