As good or better (better) as the SOGI own two of these now - also a SOG - and it seems to me the SOG is only considered the superior of the two because of the label. I've used both heavily (started out with the SOG based on Interwebz knife enthusiast gossip) and they're both great 'hawks, extremely sturdy, and durable. Only this one is 2 1/2 in. longer, has three head bolts instead of two, nice balance, feels good in the hand, holds an edge, and it is *so* much better looking. Oh, and cheaper. Went camping recently and a buddy went on and on about SOG superiority. After comparing the two, he was jealous of mine. Said he felt swindled haha. For the money, it's one of the best 'hawks around, and superior, to me, than the SOG in every area.

Sharp spikeIt was a ok tomahawk . It was not as sharp as expected so it would not stick in easily. The spike on the other hand could stab through aluminum doors. Sadly after about 2 months the tomahawk broke at the very to.

HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!I bought this tomahawk a few days ago and the second time I threw it the whole thing just broke in half I was not throwing it hard or irrationally it just broke! but the edge was sharp and the metal was strong but the handle was a peace of trash it was made of some sort of nylon polymer plastic stuff. So if you are looking for a tomahawk to through or just use definitely go with a SOG their tomahawks are 100% times better!!!!!!

would I be able to throw this

it all depends on the strength of the user, but yes, that is why it is called a tomahawk not a hatchet
