A COMPACT OPTION FOR A SURVIVAL BAGI'LL BE THE FIRST TO SAY I HAVE A LARGER KNIFE SHARPENER THAT SITS ON A TABLE TOP AT HOME FOR REGULAR USE. BUT THIS IS WHAT I CARRY IN MY BUG OUT BAG BECAUSE OF THE MULTIPLE METAL TYPE SHARPENING OPTIONS PLUS THE SERATION SHARPENER IN A SMALL PACKAGE. I'VE ADDED A 550 PARACORD LANYARD TO MINE.

Value for moneyIf you want a handy tool in your pocket for a quick sharpen this will do the trick. I found the carbide and ceramic to not be terribly effective, but using the serrated ceramic for a quick sharpen was quite effective on any blade. Overall, would recommend it to anyone needing a pocket sized tool for anytime sharpening.

Functional and compactPurchased one of these about a year ago and it's worth the price. I've sharpened folding, fixed blade knives and machetes with it. You can put a lanyard strap on it or stick it in a pocket. Like it better than the Smith version. I keep one in my go-bag.
