Big DisplayHad owned previous Polar watches and this one is the best. Face of the watch is easy to read no matter what activity. If working out for a certain amount of time and yet measure your heart rate, merely bring it up to your chest as you are moving and it switches to the chrono mode from the hear rate mode. Bring it up to your chest again and switches back. Would recommend downloading a .pdf of the instructions for better explanation than what is sent with the watch. Price can't be beat for the functionality.

Should be mandatory in highschool gym classesI'm just a country bumpkin. been bicycling / mountain bikin' since I was a wee lad. I never really understood heart rate limits. I used to push myself so hard without realizing I was doing damage....I didn't have a tachometer. I got bi-lateral DVT and CVI back in 2012. Doc. told me to never go above 180 on my heart rate. So I purchased this amazing Heart Rate Monitor from Polar. K.I.S.S. principle! keep it simple stupid! this heart rate monitor gives me everything I need to know about my heart rate and the range and time and Average and Maximum heart rates logged. This thing I built like a tank. It's April 2016 now and I've used this for a few hours a week since March 2013. I even sleep with it on 1 or 2 nights a week to log my sleeping heart rate. Also wear this while strength training, it works. In my opinion the best heart rate monitor available on the market. Thank you Polar for giving my doctor and myself the needed peace of mind to keep my dumb butt from blowin' my heart up or dislodging a clot while im out rehabbing myself. If anything ever happens to this heart rate monitor I will replace it with the exact same make n' model.

DisappointedI've been satisfied with my polar products in the past - the main problem here is that the instructions are so poor. I can see under "file" the total amount of time spent exercising, the average heart rate and the maximum heart rate, but what the heck does the last number mean? Nothing in the instructions explains how to use the watch - you have to figure it out by trial and error.

waste of moneyI got this for a Christmas present and am so disappointed the packaging got thrown away. It takes forever for it to pick up my heart rate and then it says it's 40BPM when I know it's not - when it gets above 100BPM it start tracking, maybe a records it a little high...I'm not quiet sure though because it spends about 10 minutes or more on each of the functions and rarely gets to telling me my heart rate - SOOOO frustrating. If you press the one "easy" button to try to get it to scan, it stops the whole workout. What a waste of money.

Breaks easily and causes a rashAfter less than 3 months of use, the transmitter was not sending a signal. I replaced the battery replaced and verified that the belt had a conductive connection to my skin. Still no signal. I was doubly irritated because my skin on either side of the POLAR transmitter battery holder was red and raw with a rash. Realized in reading about fixes that the belt had leaked the connective gel/fluid and caused the rash.

nice but....needs some better stitching.this is about the 5th one I brought!!! Love them...plain simple and thats all I need to check my heart rate. Once battery goes, you have to buy a whole new set. I use it everyday and in all kinds of fitness. However, this last one, the stitching from the edge that connects the break apart thing to get band off, came un stitched and now worthless. Am not a sewer but took it to a tailor shop to restitch and can use again. Told them to make heavier stitching. so , if the people who make these, need to make it re enforced stitching. I will still buy them.

Great for basic HRI wanted something that would allow me to track my HR during non-running workouts. I didn't want any bells and whistles and I certainly didn't want a hefty price tag - this fit the bill perfectly.
I gave it 4 stars because I am pretty sure if I wasn't a woman with a 6" wrist this wouldn't fit - and it's supposed to be a man's watch
I need to quote (15) of Polar FT1, are these in stock and can I purchase on line with a credit card

Can you tell me if the Chest Band for this item comes in a variety of sizes such as L or XL?
Asked by: Sheila E
Hello Sheila E,
The Polar Fitness FT1 Heart Rate Monitor does not come in a variety of sizes. The transmitter attaches to an adjustable, elastic strap to fit snugly and comfortably.
