Rated 1 out of 5 by from Huge mistake I purchased this smoker and had it shipped. I was exited to receive it until I realized that there were a million things wrong with it. The handle on the cook chamber is bent 90 degrees, so you can't even open the cook chamber. The shelf is bent really bad and crooked. There's gaps in the firebox, and the latch is bent 90 degrees. I can't believe that the company would actually send this product out to a customer like this! I'll never purchase anything from either of these companies again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this smoker I've always wanted a legit side box smoker. I was ready to buy a different brand that is close to 3x the price. Once I saw this in person at an Academy store I couldn't believe it. At $1100 shipped it is a steal. It is indeed made out of 1/4" thick steel pipe. The flanges and seal areas are 3/19" or 1/8" thick. It's a beast of at least 500 pounds. I've used it 5x in the past month and it gets better every cook. Love it, loaded with quality and fun managing the fire. Excellent customer and a superb product1

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NOT 1/4 STEEL!!!! 3/16!!!! Still a good cooker. But Academy needs to change the information by measuing themselves the actual thickness. These never were 1/4 but 3/16 only.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy it! Been owning this smoker for about 2 years and it is well seasoned. I did chop the legs a little and welded it to a small trailer from harbor freight so I can move it from place to place without a forklift. Lol.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This grill is the real deal. This grill is as legit as any of the more popular brand names. It's solid, well built, holds temp like your wife's oven, it's well designed (the fold away shelf is awesome and nobody else puts their exhaust at vent level like that, especially in this price range), you can't beat the shipping either. You'd pay $500-$600 to have this shipped across the country from any other pit builder. You can't beat this deal. For the grill you get it's worth every penny. A word of warning, when they call to schedule the delivery, specifically ask for a truck with a lift gate. I was lucky and had some friends around, otherwise the delivery guys weren't getting it off the truck that day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome I've been waiting months to order this and finally got mine two weeks ago. My previous smoker was a WSM. This is nice, heavy and sturdy. It leaks a bit so I'll put some seal. Otherwise, really happy. Did a brisket on my first week end and just did ribs tonight and I never managed to make a brisket that good on a WSM (and this was my first try). I'm so happy.

What is the seasoning of a Brazos All American Smoker?

Asked by: Pat 76
Hello Pat 76, The Old Country BBQ Pits All-American Brazos Smoker can be seasoned using the following method: First, wash the grill really well (even though you have not yet used it) with dishwashing liquid and a scrub brush. Rinse and dry it, and then put an edible oil on it (like vegetable oil) and heat to about 400 degrees. Cook at that temperature (with no food) for about 45 minutes. Turn the grill off and let it cool completely. Every time you cook after that, coat the grill with oil first and let it cook for a few minutes. After you're done cooking each time, don't scrub so hard when you clean it that you remove the oil. If food starts to stick, you'll need to repeat the whole process.

Hi, I was just wondering, with the old country Brazos smoker being almost 400 lbs, is it easy to move on to my property and my backyard by my self or is there assistance included in the 99$ delivery.

Hello Bsuajt, The Old Country BBQ Pits All-American Brazos Smoker would ship via Academy's Bulk Carrier Service. Shipping for this item would take 7-14 business days and the delivery carrier in your area will call you directly to schedule an appointment to make a delivery. Typically, the carrier requires a minimum of a four-hour window for the delivery, and an adult (over 18) must be available to sign for the delivery.
