Reticle illumination quit workingI sighted the scope in and all total fired about 50 shots. Several days later while showing a friend the scope I tried to show him the illuminated reticle and it wouldn't illuminate. My first thought was that I had left the illumination on and the battery was dead. I replaced the battery but it still did not illuminate.

Flakes inside scopeI purchased this scope brand new. I mounted the TAC30 1-4X24 on top of an Ar-15. I have not shot the AR-15 with scope on it yet and when I looked through the scope I saw two flakes which look like metal(aluminum) inside resting on the front lense. I say metal because when I used my flashlight to see inside the front lense I could see light reflecting off the flakes. So I'm assuming they are metal shavings. I then worked the bolt of the AR a few times to try and get the pieces to move and one did. Now I only see one flake but the other is floating around somewhere inside. I'm still debating whether to send it back to Burris or just use the scope as is. Again, I haven't even shot with the scope yet. It had the metal flakes present without any gun recoil breaking them loose. Quality control is a little lacking for a scope that costs this much. Still an awesome scope which most people give great reviews. Definitely disappointed in mine.

Quick target acquisitonRecently purchased MTAC for my Sig AR 556 for a boar hunt. First morning out the illuminated reticle allowed target to be quickly acquired at about 90 yards in low light and on the run....1 shot. Excellent product.

Perfect match for my IWI TavorI have been looking for an optic that could satisfy both CQ quick target aquisition as well putting shots on target downrange and this one fit the bill as far as quality and price not to mention their outstanding warranty. With a top mounted red dot I no longer have a need for a 45° offset mount which requires a complete tilt and hold of rifle, This new setup allows me to stay in the ready fire position. Wish I would have found this sooner. A+

Great for the price!I bought this for my AR. My intent was to be able to shoot accurately up to three hundred yards, while also realizing that two hundred or less would be my norm. In this regard it is excellent. Though I didn't think I would really utilize the FastFire III, I have fallen in love with it.
If I had to ding the TAC30, it would be that the illuminated reticle doesn't work in bright sunlit conditions. I have had an issue with this when I was shooting at a black target and couldn't make out the reticle from the target.
