How do you remove these if you ever need to?
Asked by: pauldh
In regards to our Stockdale NCAA Chrome Auto Emblem, please review the following guide for emblem removal:
1. Wash the area thoroughly
Using soapy water and a cleaning cloth, wash the decal and the area around it thoroughly. Use car soap as some regular soaps are a little too abrasive for delicate car paint. Washing the area removes dirt and debris that could scratch your paint when scrubbing away leftover glue later in the process. Dry the area with a clean microfiber cloth.
2. Apply Heat
Apply heat to the decal with a hairdryer set to its warmest setting. Run the hairdryer back and forth over the decal for about a minute. This helps to loosen the bonds between the glue, the decal and your car.
Gently peel and pull the vinyl decal away from the paint with your fingernail. The trick here is to peel slowly. Try to pull as much glue as possible off of the car along with the sticker. It helps to periodically add heat with the hairdryer as you go to keep the glue loose.
For larger or more stubborn stickers, you can optionally use a credit card (any small plastic card will do) to gently pry the sticker off of the car. Stick the card under the edge of the decal and use it to carefully scrape the decal off. Again, be sure to work slowly to ensure you are pulling as much glue as possible off of the car and, more importantly, not scratching your shiny new car’s paint. On my car, my fingernail did the trick and a plastic card wasn’t necessary
