Delighted so farVery happy it worked immediately without a lot of reading. Can read but prefer results. I am 65 and an avid fair weather cyclist. Wearing now and will be going to gym today to see if it works with a "Keiser" exercise bike. Going to try training smarter this year to see if I can generate greater speed.

Great BuyAt first I wasn't getting good reading till midway through my workout, then I realized I just needed to run the sensor under some warm water before attaching it. Needless to say my reading became accurate from start to finish.
Couldn't be happier with this purchase

Not Worth the TroubleFeature-wise, it's exactly what I need and expected. But it's a worthless product as many times it will not pick up your heart rate, even when using a quality gel (or good old saliva). It's extremely frustrating. My sensor finally quit working after 2 years, and I was disappointed to find a replacement very pricey. I switched to using my wife's identical sensor, and it has the same problems mine had. Once you're pouring in sweat mid-workout, the sensor seems to work fine. But using in a light workout or during warmup periods, it's terribly frustrating to not get a good, consistent heart rate reading.
I'm soured on Polar after this purchase and will be looking elsewhere for my next monitor.
I wanted to give 2 stars, but after reflecting on it, and since I cannot recommend this product, it's a 1-star rating.

Great!I've been using this heart rate monitor for 3 years and it's always been great. It's important that you wet the black strap before you put it on your chest or pour some water down your chest so the impulses can be detected easier. Will buy again!

Heart Rate Miniaturizes RandomlyNo where on Polar's website and instruction manual does it have directions to enlarge the heart rate display which randomly miniaturized and I have wasted 1.5 hours scouring the net for this. There are many competitors out there which I may consider instead of Polar.

Great Product, Highly Recommend!I used my FT7 Everyday for 4 years. I have used and abused my PolaFT7 and it still works great, I believe it is the most accurate training device I have used and I trust it.

Nice Monitor Wrong DateI just received my FT7, so far I like it and will try out the heart rate monitor tonight. I did notice after setting the date it is displaying the incorrect day of the week, even after double checking I had set it correctly. Not programmed for 2016 leap year?

DisappointedThis was my second FT7; I returned it after 2 frustrating attempted tries. I was getting the old ‘check heart rate transmitter’ message. The fabric chest strap on my first FT7 did the same thing despite following all maintenance directions to the letter. It did work well using my old T31 chest strap for about 1½ years before the watch died after having the battery replaced and several unsuccessful attempted to resuscitate it.
My older Polar heart rate monitor with the T31 chest strap worked just fine and lasted about 4 years of continuous use until it died. It owed me nothing. I did not hesitate to buy your FT7 after my first heart rate monitor died but I have experienced nothing but misery and disappointment since. Can’t you guys go back to what worked?
Considering buying this HRM. How large of a chest will the strap fit for the transmitter? Thank you

It is recommended that you have the battery replaced by an authorized Polar Service Center. They test your Polar FT7 for water resistance after battery replacement and make a full periodic check. Please feel free to visit http://www.polar.com/us-en/support/service to find the authorized Polar Service Center nearest you.
