Decent ammo, bad price.I bought 8 boxes of this ammo a while back because ammo was hard to get. It is basically plane jane 45 acp ball ammo. I also bought several boxes of the cheaper steel cased 230 grain ball at Walmart. I can tell no diffrence in accuracy or power. I did chrono the Tullamo from Walmart and found it almost exactly mil-spec, accurate and 100% reliable. I will pass on this Blazer ammo in the future because it is simply priced far too high. It is $7 a box higher than the other ammo I listed. I found zero difference in feeding and extraction than the steel ammo. I use it in mobht 1911 semi autos and it single action cowboy guns chambers in 45 acp.

CharcoalTypical Federal product. Good for plinking but are we working in charcoals or shooting? Do not believe I have seen this much black dust in just 25 rounds ever. Would not trust it in a pinch but if you like cleaning it is a great shell.

DirtyI bought 100 rounds for the range due to the low cost, after the first 10 rounds, I had black marks on my shooting hand. Figured whatever, but it got worse. I cleaned my gun after the 100, bought another 50 from the range, and has the same issue...Even on sale, I won't be buying thia brand again.

1911 Aficionado from
Barely-Decent target ammoI bought 2 boxes a few weeks ago and fired 100 rounds through my 1911; had several FTE & "Short Strokes" when using this ammo. Also had about a half dozen or so shells get kicked directly back at me hitting me in the face & bouncing off my safety glasses; never had this issue before with any other higher quality ammo. As a previous reviewer has stated, I too had lots of powder residue that didn't burn completely/cleanly on my forearms & clothes, along with the front end of my pistol. All-in-all, I would say that of the 100 rounds that I fired, about a dozen did not perform as they should. I would only use this for target ammo as it appears to be severely under-gassed & uses low-grade powder. I would NOT recommend this stuff for carry ammo, & it's barely worth using as target ammo with this number of failures. I will not be buying it again.

Very Dirty Ammo. This ammo is cheap; however, I can find cheaper and better ammo. I've shot several boxes of Blazer Brass and only buy it when I can't get the cheaper stuff. When shooting this ammo it leaves lots of un-burnt powder on my arm. I do not have this problem with other ammo. This ammo also leaves by 1911 a lot dirtier than any ammo I have shot.
The ammo shots well and I've had some of my most accurate shooting with this ammo. I've not experienced any misfeeds or misfires.
