Good optics, cheap accessoriesThe family viewed the super moon and was amazed at the image. The binos are easy to focus and the clarity of the image was excellent. Sadly, I will return the binos due to the cheap strap, cheap and poorly fitting case (too tight), and the objective lens covers fall off every time I use the too-tight case, with no way to attach the covers to the strap. It's a shame that the optics are so good yet the accessories are so cheap and ill fitted. I expected more from Leupold.

I don't know much about binoculars. So is a 10x42 more powerful or is 8x42 ?
Asked by: Cplant
Binoculars with a 10 (power) x 42 (objective lens) are more powerful than binoculars with an 8 (power) x 42 (objective lens). Although a 10 (or higher) power is more powerful, it is not always the best choice. With greater power comes a lesser field of vision. So, although you may see something closer (10x magnification vs. 8x magnification), you will lose some of your field of vision which isn't something you want for game viewing or other applications that require a larger field of view. If your end goal is to view one object at a closer range and with more detail, then the 10x (or larger) magnification is what you want.
