Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality and value This is a great red dot sight for the price. It has a solid construction and feel. I've shot about 500 rnds already and it holds the aim so far. And in sunlight the red dot shows up well. For everyday use on the range it really is a bargain. There are some outstanding red dots on the market(and I own a few) but these units range from $400 to $1200 and to be honest I don't think I will be going to combat soon to where I need the indestructible features. Anyways, I can buy four of these units for the price of one top-end unit. The gun snobs might turn there nose up on the Sightmark name but at the end of the day I'll have more money to spend for ammo and accessories. My only minor complaint is that it uses 3 stacked AG5 batteries. They should have designed it for one battery. Upshot is it has an auto shut-off feature. Pros: Good value Cons: They use 3 stacked batteries.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good value I have had this for a few years and put it on various rifles but now it has found a permanent home on my ISSC MK22. I easily removed the upper shroud and spray painted it tan to match the rifle. Well built. Holds zero. Red dot is still visible in bright sunlight. Very nice for the money.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Happy at first.. then disappointed. I had heard good things about sightmark so this was my first foray into their products. At first I was happy with it, but this was pretty short lived. I found, as has been noted before, that the batteries are a tiny difficult oddball size. Not a normal cr123, or lithium flats. So it is cumbersome to put in, but the real issue is that even once in, they have very very little life to them. The scope starts to dim and then nothing like having an optic god down due to batteries part way through a match. The second issue is that of parallax. I did not note it at first when i looked at it. I become frustrated as to why my groups were so bad at one hundred. So after sandbagging the gun, i then noted as i shifted my head slightly around, that the dot was moving, and not staying locked on the target. This is even a bigger issue than the batteries. It means that at 25 you may not notice issues, but at 100 the groups are all over unless you have EXACTLY the same cheek weld, cheek position, and head cant. I mean EXACTLY. I note that on the MSPEC they claim it is parallax free to infinity, but now i am hesitant to spend further $ on the products. Sort of a good money after bad question. The build seems good, which is what attracted me to the brand, but the value is low if it cannot perform.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good except for the batteries..AG5 = fail !. Purchased to use with a Hightower HTA90/22, its does the job, nice clear reticule, great for precision shots out to 50 yards and excels for 25 yard close range shooting (very fast, very accurate). CONS only 1 Rubbish battery life (Approx 4 hours, mabey less), seriously poor design, even for a plinker, this lets down a pretty good optic and is a total shame when you can buy cheap $20 airsoft optics that run CR2032 lithium as standard and run for months of range visits.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from BUT Then...! I purchased this reflex sight from a local store. I was immediately impressed with the product and it's features relative to the price. The sight has 4 reticles to choose from and you can also dim the brightness of the red dot. If you are concerned about battery life then leave the red dot on dim setting and make sure you turn it off when you are not shooting! It will not turn itself off. I was indeed impressed and excited about this purchase. I took it to the range and was satisfied with how well it holds Zero. BUT Then.... ! On my 2nd trip to the range (after 250 total life shots fired) the sight went flying 2 feet down the range while firing my AR15. The root cause appears to be quick detach bolt not secured properly to the nut. By design of this quick detach it doesn't appear possible for the nut to come loose from the bolt unless the threads are stripped or the nut was already loose from the factory. I did not see any signs of stripped or cross threads. Now my sight will not mount to my gun and it's fairly banged up from being catapulted 2 feet down the range. The sight is about 40 days old, so Hopefully the warranty covers replacement for something like this so I can continue being a SightMark customer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent sight This is a wonderful sight for any rifle that does not come equipped with any sights as well as those that do. Very fast setup and sighting in capabilities. I have an AR and purchased a bore sighter in 223 cal. Setup was fast and simple. Inside of 15 mins I was printing on the bull at 50 yards. If you are on the fence over purchasing this lifetime guaranteed sight I can assure you that you will love the Sightmark sm14000qd. Customer service at Sightmark is simply the best. Happy shooting !

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor battery choice Bought this because of the price but I should've done more research. Quality of product is good and shoots well. Unfortunately the batteries only lasted few range visits and now the only place I can find them is from sightmark online, imagine that. Very disappointed with battery selection for this product, now it's a $100 paper weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional optics. I bought this sight approximately 8 months ago for my AR-15. Love the four optical sight designs and the various brightness options. I take the batteries out after each trip to the range to extend the battery life and have had no problems with the batteries going bad. Also love the quick release feature in case I want to use it on another rifle.
