Marine Raider Telescopic Boat Hook

Boat Hook Snapped First Time UsedPurchased this boat hook some months back to replace a lost version made by Star Brite that Academy use to sell. Had some work to finish on my 17'10" Ranger before the opportunity came up to use this new B Hook. First out I need to push away from the dock and as I did the plastic head snapped off back by the entry point into the aluminum shaft. I about fell in the drink as a result.
The shaft seams to be OK and locks well enough though no time has been put in while using it so it should still work. Wish I could say that for the point & hook end of this cheese plastic molded end.

Good of the type.Good, serviceable boat hook. That having been said, the screw-thread attachment of the hook to the shaft must be glued or cemented to prevent it coming off in service. I used blue 'Loctite', which is working well. The length adjustment must be made up really tight to stay in place. I wrapped it with duct tape, which seems to be holding well. I use the hook many times each workday to draw delivery items from the bed of a pick-up truck; which usage is a good deal more than the tool would get docking a pleasure boat. I would buy it again, if need be, and would recommend it to any prospective buyer.

what is the diameter of the pole? Wondering if it will fit in a taco style paddle clip for convenient storage. Also, can the hook be removed from the end so you could go back and forth between the hook and a duck bill end for shallow push-pole.
Asked by: jedfish13
The Marine Raider Telescopic Boat Hook should fit in a taco style paddle clip. Additionally, the Marine Raider Telescopic Boat Hook has a hook that is permanently fixed to the end, so there is no guarantee that a brush will successfully attach to this.
