Manuals and Rebates
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the price I bought one just hoping it got me through a few weeks until I could buy a much more expensive brand. I did buy the more expensive Penn a few weeks later. The Penn is shot, the Shimano is still catching bass & red fish. Unbelievable that a $13 reel has held up over a year in saltwate, as well as outlasted a reel 3 times the price. Going to buy 2 more tomorrow with Christmas money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great price and features The only reel I have seen that has the single hand cast (Quickfire II). These last a while but the Quickfire mechanism wore out after thousands of casts. Could have bought replacement parts but bought new reels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Reel - Awesome Price! I have purchased several of these reels since they first hit the market in the 80's and all but one are still functioning. Just bought a few more for my son who is now learning to enjoy fishing like I did with the Shimano Quickfire series. Academy has always had the best price by far. Definitely a win- win.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Look ma, one hand. If you have ever river fished in South Georgia, You need this reel. Not a matter of, if you are going to get hung up but when you get hung up. It's a cheap reel so break it and buy another but when you are leaning over the water, hanging on to a tree limb with one hand and casting with the other, You'll know why you need Quick Fire. Shimano makes better reels with Quick Fire but for the price of this one, I can afford to abuse it.
