Rated 3 out of 5 by from for the most part it does the job It seems to be a good griddle.. we have encountered one kind of big problem though... when you fry bacon.. it does not have space enough in that groove to hold all the grease you get from bacon . this can be quite a problem!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Cookware As with all Lodge products, truly a work of art. I had purchased another griddle from a "Frontier Lady" and found the cooking surface was unlevel and as I poured my eggs onto the griddle they ran straight into the grease trough. Not so with the Lodge. Perfectly level and a smooth non-stick cooking surface right out of the box. If you're in the market for a cast iron griddle, I highly recommend this item. Now, just a couple added thoughts. Lodge makes another, less expensive griddle that appears much smaller, but in reality the actual cooking surface is only a few square inches less than this larger, heavier version. The differences lie in the handle configuration and lack of a grease trough. This second version is lighter and easier to store. Also, either griddle truly only work on the kitchen stove where you can set it over top of two burners (or maybe a Coleman cook stove). If used outdoors on my propane cooker, or with the cookstove I take camping, it really only fits over one burner, limiting the use I expected to get from this item. No fault of the griddle, I just hadn't thought through how I would be using it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect addition for any kitchen Adds a solution for the kitchen that enables me to cook and quickly prepare the foods my family likes the most. Minimal cooking oil is needed for any meat and eggs. French toast and pancakes have never been easier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PERFECT SIZE, DISTRIBUTES HEAT EVENLY I use this primarily for bacon and burgers. Cooks extremely well and carries the heat nicely across the entire pan. he ribbed side works great for burgers. For the price, it is worth it. I wish they sold it a four burner griddle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid griddle with nice weight. I was looking for a griddle to use indoors and outdoors while camping and was not disappointed with this purchase. I've had it for about a year now and it has held up nicely. It has been used to fry eggs, grilled cheese sandwiches, bacon, pancakes, burgers, steaks and fish and have had an issue with sticking. My only complaint would be that the weight tops out at 15 lbs, making it a little heavy for the wife to move around and I had to make custom footings to place it on my stove to keep the grates from shifting during use. Overall, it is a great purchase (made in the USA) and as long as you maintain it, it should last a lifetime or more.

Can the griddle be used on a glass top stove/

Asked by: NO NICKMAN
Hello NO NICKMAN, The Lodge Logic Reversible Pro Grid/Iron Griddle is right at home on induction, ceramic, electric and gas cooktops, in your oven, on the grill, or even over the campfire. Do not use in the microwave. On glass or ceramic cooktops, lift cookware; never slide it. The cookware is safe at high temperatures; use metal, wood, or hi-temp silicone utensils. Some foods may stick to new cookware (especially eggs). Use a little extra oil or butter until you’ve built up the seasoning. Acidic foods like tomatoes, beans, and certain sauces can damage seasoning, and should be avoided until the seasoning is well-established. Cast Iron rarely needs to go above a medium heat setting when properly pre-heated. For the times when you do cook at higher temperatures, bring the pan to temperature gradually and add oil to just before adding food to prevent sticking. The handles get hot; use mitts. Use trivets to protect countertops from hot cookware.

How do you keep these clean, if you wash do they rust?

Asked by: Stonequarry
Hello, Stonequarry. The use and care directions for the Lodge Logic Reversible Pro Grid/Iron Griddle are listed below for your reference. 1. Hand wash - dry immediately. 2. Rub with a light coat of vegetable oil after every wash. 3. How much oil? Enough to restore the sheen, without being "sticky". (This helps to keep the iron seasoned and protected from moisture. 4. When you wash - if using no soap is too scary, wash with mild soapy water and dry and oil immediately. However, keep in mind - cookware is 400ºF in 4 minutes on medium heat and is sterile at 212º F, so soap isn’t always necessary. Dishwashers, strong detergents and metal scouring pads are not recommended, as they remove seasoning. 5. Without protective seasoning iron can rust. It's really easy to fix. Scour the rust, rinse, dry and rub with a little vegetable oil.
