What is the difference between Mono and Fluorocarbon fishing lines?

Asked by: Bradcon
Hello, Bradcon. Some of the differences between Monofilament and Flourocarbon lines are listed below for your reference: Density - Monofilament suspends in water when fishing topwater baits and water permeability means a more relaxes line. - Flourocarbon features zero water absorption which means the line maintains strength. The line is denser than water, reducing line slack. This line sinks, so baits run deeper. Strength - Monofilament features dynamic strength which means shock absorption for hard-hitting strikes and the water permeability can weaken line over time. - Flourocarbon is more abrasion resistant than many monofilament lines. Limited elasticity means a more sensitive line. UV Resistance adds to overall strength and lifespan of the line. Zero water absorption means the line maintains strength. Visibility - Monofilament line is available in a wide array of colors for (in)visibility in all conditions. - Flourocarbon line is extremely clear and virtually invisible to fish that may be spooked by other lines.
