Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shakesphere never lets me down!!!! Although I am a Charter Boat Captain and fish saltwater for a living my true love of fishing is from my roots of crappie and bream fishing and I do this every chance I get. Got into spyder rigging for crappies not long ago and was overwhelmed by the rods on the market. Decided to go with a brand I am familiar with and like always Shakesphere came through with everything I needed and expected, the 12' CRAPPIEHUNTER Rods are all you need. Perfect performance every time as always from Shakesphere!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great for spider rigging I own 4 crappie hunters 2 are 9 ft and 2 are 10 ft I used them for spider rigging in crappie tournaments and they did all i aksed for ... easy to see even light bits and enough baqckbone to pull out the bigger fish including some small bass that were by catch . They also work well for vertical jigging and casting small jigs .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the casting leverage I always loved fishing from the shore with light tackle and low test line(4lb.). This rod allows for a long cast and helps with landing the "big" ones because of its added flex due to the length of it. You can also use it as a fly rod if you rig the right way making it very versatile.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pole for deep water chronomid fishing I watched Brian Chan, a noted BC biologist and expert on chronomid fishing, use this set up for deep water chronomids. I outfitted the pole with a smooth spinning reel with a very light drag and 10lb TufLine that has a diameter of 4lb line. Then used a small slip bobber, bobber stopper on the main line, and a small split shot between my two chronomids to fish 15 to 25 feet deep. I use a small corky (3/8 inch) with a small bead glued into it for a bobber stopper bead. Slowly the small corky will climb up on top of the bobber when the chronmids and small split shot are down to the desired depth. This pole I equate to a 4wt fly pole....I always use 4 and 3 wt fly poles on our local lakes. A 1/2 lb fish can pull drag and bend the pole. I've had this pole for five years (it was not called a crappie hunter 5 years ago) for crappie and converted it to chromonid fishing last month. Worked so good I bought this pole as my second pole. In WA state we can buy a two pole license.
