Excellent ReelI have been using this reel for a couple of months now on a micro series rod. It is an excellent little reel. Very light, casts great and has a smooth drag when fighting a good sized fish.

Works good on your spinning rodsLike ALL spin cast reels it gets twists in your line after a couple of hours fishing time. You must then let out the line, without a bait on it, until you get past the twisted line. Then you can wide it back up slowly and let the twists unwind. You will be good for a while until the line twists again. Just repeat the process again. I would not recommend line lighter the 6 pound test with this size reel. I do like it though.

Broke after first useI have used the TI-20 reel now for several years and have had several of them. They generally work well except that the screw that holds the handle on breaks. I have had this happen to 3 reels. I was unable to buy a replacement handle so I bought a whole new reel - actually took advantage of end of year clearance and bought 4. One of the reels fell apart inside after the first day of fishing. I wasn't able to figure out how to fix it. I bought it online so I didn't return it. Instead I took the handle off the broken reel and repaired my old reel with it.

Great reel for the priceShopped around and tried several rod/reel combos for my wife and daughter. Landed on the TI6 matched with SCLDY110056 Medium Light action Ugly Stik. Fish mostly for crappie and bream. Has hauled in several 15+ inch crappie as well as 3-4 lb bass and one gar over 3 feet long (by accident).
Wife puts about 100k miles of casting per season. Reel will eventually wear out especially thumb trigger and line cuts groove in spool over time and line twist from reeling against the drag (she only knows how to winch fish in) so I keep several in stock ready to swap out during an outing. Keep old reel for parts or clean/oil up for emergency spares.
For the price, TI model can not be beat. TI6 is perfect size and balance for smaller lady hands or kids. And it will take a pounding.

PLASTIC RELEASE BUTTON BROKE AFTER ONLY 2 USESI am very disappointed with the quality of my Synergy Ti 6 reel. After using it only 1 time before. The next time I took the reel out to used it, I had the same part failure (plastic release button broke) as other customers have also written about in their reviews. Seems to be a problem with the material the release button is made of. It is not very durable at all. So now I have a broken useless reel now. I hope that Shakespeare does something to fix the problem. I'm very disappointed with Shakespeare's Ti 6 reel but still love their " Ugly Stik" rods.

My favorite for light tackleI originally bought this reel to go on a medium rod as a loaner rod for my nephew when he came down to visit and go fishing. I used it myself first, just to make sure it was going to function ok. Boy was I surprised! This little reel is awesome. I'll swear I could cast a paper clip with this rig. I couldn't stand to give it up, so I bought another for the loaner rod. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

My reel doesn't reel in any more. Does anyone know why?
