How do you convert from left to right retrieve? No instructions and it is not obvious how it is done.
Asked by: brewtonj
The South Bend Royal Coachman Fly Reel Convertible retrieve can be changed by using the steps below:
1. Remove the spool
2. Pull out the spool, look at the ratchet plate to see if the word right or left hand is on the plate.
3. To remove the plate to change the retrieve, you remove the O-ring and then the bearing.
4. To reverse the plate, you would reverse it to show the correct retrieve whether you want it right or left.
5. Then you would place the ball bearing back on and then the O-ring and then place the spool back on.
