Same as buying at home!!!My local store did not have a certain "stock" Attwood boat seat pedestal kit, so I checked online. End result - shipped FedEx to my business next day, free freight, same local sales tax added - just like buying local. Thanks, Academy !!!

Solid, but!the set up is very sturdy, but the welded nut on the bottom of the base mount is not welded on straight so the pedestal cannot be screwed in due the threads not lining up, which is what is advertised for added strength and security

Can the seat base and post base be used together without the post? If so, can they be used like that over 5 miles an hour?

Yes it can. Without pedestal it works great for just a seat that turns
