Please read before purchasingI installed this on a new boat and discovered that even though the top is stainless the part that the post slides into is not. After 1 month I saw what looked like a rust stain surrounding the plate. I removed the plate to discover my new white fiberglass boat now has 8x8 stain that cant be removed. The seat base functioned flawlessly and would have been perfect if it was 100% stainless.

Works great!Base seems to do all that it is suppose to. No issues and delivery from Academy was excellent.
