Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent bang for the buck Having fished professionally on the B.A.S.S., IFA Redfish Tour, guided for years in Florida, I have always been supportive of Penn products. I use all Penn Conflicts for inshore fishing. I as well use the Penn conflict on my snapper rods. It is of my opinion for the cost of these reels, they are the best, no matter what size/model in the conflict line you select, you will be extremely pleased. Expect longevity out of this reel. The reels are built solid and the drag system is flawless. No matter if you fish a few times a year or, you guide fishing daily, this reel will handle your needs with dependability.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Loving this reel. I bought the 3000 series and so far I'm loving it. Paired it with a 7' medium heavy rod mostly for largemouth and some inshore in Florida. It casts and retrieves great.I spooled it with 10# braid. The small bass araren't even a struggle. I will probably purchase the 5000 for catfish. The only reason I only give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I expected it to be a little smoother. But its not bad enough to bother me for the work it puts out.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's a soild reel with smooth drag. I have the CFT6000 model. Facts about the reel: The weight is 1.7b with line. Max drag(locked down until couldn't turn) is about 18lb when fully loaded 50lb braid line to top. Pros: Solid build. Should be able to last for years without problem. Smooth drag. Cons: It's heavy for its size. Not a lot of cranking power under load(would like a longer handle). Line roller doesn't spin very freely. Braid line twist is pretty bad on this reel, maybe due to design of line roller.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dependable I own about a dozen Penn Confluct reels from the 1000 to 6000 size and all of which perform great. The reel is tough and stays smooth much longer than the Penn Battle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hard core durability. I demand the best out of my equipment as a professional fishing guide and Penn has always been there for me. The Conflict is a no frills bad to the bone reel. Love them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dependablity, quality and value Nearly three years and the Conflict 3000 is still racking up the fish count. Snook, Tarpon, Redfish, Bass, this reel easily deals with all these and more. I love the smooth drag and overall smooth, solid power this reel delivers. Obviously it's made to last if it's tolerated my abuse this long. I have it on a 6.5ft med action rod and use 20-30lb Power Pro. This reel won't disappoint you. It will effectively resolve any Conflict you might have with a big fish. Great job Penn!
