You are in the middle of reeling in something big and right before you bring it out of the water the fishing line snaps! Some fish are too heavy to reel out of the water which calls for the use of a gaff. The Gaff is a pole with a sharp hook at the end that is used to stab larger fish. The proper way to use a gaff is to reel the large fish close to the boat and hook the gaff under the backbone of the fish, pulling it out of the water on the boat. Shop through our large variety of gaffs to prevent breakage of the line when the fish exceeds it’s breaking point.
Rid yourself completely from the fishing rod and fish like the older ancestors by gigging. Gigging is the practice of hunting fish using a gig. Gig pole range usually range from 8 to 14 feet long and look similar to spears. The gig pole has about three or four barbed tines that are used to impel and catch the fish as the fisherman strikes.
