Problems with Moisture....G45NG was purchased in November 2016 at Academy. Camera took some of the best day and night pics I've ever got from a trail camera. One night in late November the camera got a heavy rain on it. I thought nothing about it because it's made for outdoor use. I pulled it down to move to a new location a couple days later and noticed condensation inside the glass covering the LED emitters. The camera remained in my truck seat for a couple more days before I decided to put it on newly found deer trail. I placed the camera on a tree, set it to the Q3 video clip setting, it showed 86% battery life, closed the cover and left. Two days later I returned and realized the camera was dead and there were no files on the SD card. The camera would not turn on and there was still moisture inside the glass covering over the LEDs. The batteries were completely dead.....I assume from a short due to the moisture inside the camera housing.
I returned the camera to Academy (with receipt) and they gladly would have exchanged but the same model camera was out of stock. They ordered me another in exchange and are mailing it to my residence.
Time will tell if there is a continuing problem with rain water getting inside the camera housing. I'll split my rating down the middle with 3 stars until late I'm sure this camera is as good as the two G42NGs I have.

Excellent cameraGot this on sale and it has been great. The picture quality is perfect day or night. The batteries are still at 100% and it's taken about 700 pictures.

Videos and pics are great!I've had the camera for a little over a month, everything works fine for me (not sure about the technical issues Quercus was talking about). I don't share my videos but I didn't have any trouble viewing them on my picture viewer, my laptop or my work computer. Day time videos are very colorful. I've only taken a few pictures but they also seemed to be very clear. I'll put it this way, I liked it enough that I bought a send one last week.

Disappointed Here is why.I am very disappointed with this camera. I had read good things about it online reading the reviews, so I thought I would try one. So bought a Stealth Cam G45NG Pro On Oct 8, 2016 at the Academy Sports in Newman Georgia. I immediately put it up overlooking a field. The only thing I can say good about it is the trigger speed and sensitive. That is it. I have other cameras they Browning’s and Moultrie’s. I usually take short videos of around 15 to 30 seconds. This is definitely the wrong camera if you take videos especially at night. The night videos are so bad you can barely make out anything. The left side of the night video looks like it is a thick grainy fog and the right side of the video is always black. Like one side of your monitor has gone dark. All you see on the right side of the video is when an animal is there is you see their glowing eyes at night the rest is black. You can’t tell if you are looking at a doe or buck or coyote just eyes shining back. The day time pictures and videos are OK but the field of view is very narrow. This tells you they are using a small chip in the camera. The advertising hype about the resolution of the pixels of this camera is claimed to be 14 megapixel images. The images are grainy even though, I have it on the highest resolution. The image resolution in adverting of trail cameras is a joke. None of them tell you the truth about real physical resolution of the pixels of the chip (CCD). Instead they quote software resolution. This is just using software and taking a pixel and divided and cutting it up to increase the number pixels. Software could divide pixels up to make it a trillion bytes in size. This does nothing to increase the sharpness and resolution of the images and videos. It is a waste of space saving these software fabricated grainy pixel images and videos on your memory card. The videos that the Stealth Camp G45NG are .AVI (Audio Visual Interlaced) files. The CODEC that is used to compress the videos is some obscure compression algorithm not in the standard libraries (dlls) in a Windows box. So you have to go find CODEC library on the web and install it to be able to view the videos. So it you try to share a video taken from these cameras with your hunting buddies none of them can open and view the video. So you have to help them search the web for a CODEC Library (dll) that will work, download and set up their computers just to share a video with them. My suggestion is if you want good videos for the amount of money that I spent for this camera which was $150.00. Then try this other camera I have bought a Browning Recon Force Platinum it produces full HD videos that are .mpegs files. There is no comparison between the Recon Force videos and the Stealth Cam G45NG Pro. The Browning Recon Force Platinum produces .mpgs files. What this means that the CODEC Library that will play them on your windows computer is include with every window media software when you installed the operating system. So you can share them with your computer literate hunting buddies and they will play. It is amazing to me that none of game camera companies offer the correct CODEC libraries to download from their site to view the compressed videos their cameras produced. As a hunter who likes short videos, I would give the Stealth Cam G45NG Pro the lowest rating for the money spent. I would not give 25 bucks for one much less the $149.95 that I paid.

Note that the flash can work up to 100 feet. More importantly, what is the 'trip range' . . . how close must movement be to take a picture or a video? Thanks.
Asked by: GaHayFarm
There is a lot that goes into play with the detection range including batteries, SD Card, and placement of the Stealth Cam G45NG Pro 14.0 MP Infrared Game Camera. Also weather is going to have a huge play in it as well. You should be able to easily get around 60-80 FT., as long as your using good energizer lithium batteries and only dedicated SD Cards to this camera while viewing them on your computer.
