Trout Hiker from
Pricey for No DurabilityI bought these boots thinking that Reddington was a good value brand. Wrong. I fished these waders almost 2 full seasons in Appalachian trout streams (which admittedly are tough on wading boots). It was near the end of Season 1 when the stitching started to fail, but the boots were still serviceable, and I didn't mind. However, at the end of Season 2, the felt soles completely delaminated. Naturally, this was 6 miles above Lake Fontana, and the soles each failed within 24 hours of one another. The material underneath is slick plastic.
So - For a complete equipment failure after 2 seasons of only moderate (maybe 10 - 12 trips per season), coupled with an $80 price tag - These boots should be avoided. In fact, I need to write a review for the awful Reddington mesh backed fly vest. The flimsy nylon zippers will fail completely, and you'll lose whatever was in your pockets. In my case, it was a pair of sunglasses that cost more than the stinking vest!
Learn from my misfortunes! Avoid these boots.
