Didn't Last Very LongPurchased the watch in June of 2016 and it worked well until last week when the watch completely stopped working. It will not charge or sync. All I am left with is a blank screen.
Would have expected the (watch) and battery to last a little longer than it did.

My favorite watchI bought my M400 a couple years ago. Thought I would experiment with a couple other brands a few months ago - even got a different popular brand for my birthday, and another popular brand for Christmas. After using others for a couple months or so (each), I appreciate my M400 and all of its features, including Polar Flow web, so much more! This is great as an every day watch, and as a health companion. I train with it for many sports, and I use it with MyFitnessPal to track my calorie consumption. It syncs well with my iPhone (including notifications), and also worked fine with my Android tablet - when I used that for a while. Its always-on display and long battery life are both excellent. It also has a good profile thickness, so I can wear it with long sleeve shirts for work or for going out. Great job Polar!

M400 has the options but the battery...I love this watch, but the battery is not long lasting. I have to charge it after three times using it for activities. One of the downsides to the activities as well is it always uses the GPS.

Great watch! Never ending sync problems.I had a lot of trouble getting the sync set up, about six months ago, after purchasing at BestBuy.
Then, it synched for a while, bluetooth and usb, then stopped, both bluetooth and USB. I have installed, uninstalled, and tried different cables and different computers.
I just spent an hour playing with this, again, and now, abruptly, it starts syncing.
Since it the problem is persistent, but sporadic, I have no idea of how to trouble shoot it.
If it was simply that (silly?) USB port, I would expect the bluetooth to work. It usually does, but only after about the "100th" try........
(In fact, I had become so re-enamoured with it after I started training for my spring season, I even wrote polar a very positive note last week. But then, here
we go again............)
My first Polar watch goes back to 1979. I have had numerous ones. I have never run into so much trouble == albeit intermittently == as when the shift to bluetooth and usb came about. I didn't like the old IR interface, but it did work.

Good Watch- BUT Battery Only 5 hrs w/GPS & HRSo far generally happy with the watch. Nice style. Good easy to read, customizable display. Like the sleep tracking feature. GPS is accurate. BUT, one of the main reasons I bought it was advertised battery life with GPS and HR monitor was 8 hours. Just tried it out on a long run and it died at 5 hours. Will have to go without HRM on longer runs and/or reduce alerts. Kind of disappointing.

Pretty good. Could be great. This watch has almost everything I want in a GPS watch. It's very accurate with distance measured. It's pretty easy to operate, with one exception mentioned below. The H7 heart rate strap works very well (so long as you wet it before starting and have it on tight enough, which I did not do the first time ...).
The screen has good contrast. You can customize the data screens quite a bit, and do it on Polar Flow then sync to the watch, which is much easier than trying to do it on the watch. The menus are generally easy to navigate.
The buttons are easy to use. A little bit too close to the body of the watch. This can make them a little tough to find with gloves or mittens on. But they are usable with gloves or mittens. One issue is that when trying to pause a workout, I often wind up also doing a manual lap because I hit both sides of the watch. Better placement of the buttons or a firmware fix to block out double button presses might help.
The wrist band has a double sided buckle. And the band is pretty thick. Thicker than it needs to be, in my opinion. It can be tough to thread that thick band through both sides of that buckle. And it's completely unnecessary. You don't need a two sided buckle to have the watch on firmly.
The autopause feature is a must have. But it takes about 5 seconds to kick in. Way too long. It should not take more than a second or two. So I just use the button to stop the timer. But that's annoying in cold weather with gloves on.
There is no way to set the backlight to turn on automatically when you turn your wrist to look at the watch. You can set the backlight to stay on during an activity. But can only turn that feature on during a run using the quick menu. It's pretty tough to do that while running. And if you stop, autopause may kick in. There has to be a better way to turn that feature on. Ideally you should be able to turn it on in settings and toggle it on or off by just pressing the backlight button. That way, I could have it on when I start a run in the dark, and press the backlight button to turn it off once it gets light enough to see the watch. This is probably the most annoying part of this watch for me.
As well as the heart rate strap works (and it works well and is pretty comfortable), I prefer an optical heart rate monitor. Just one less thing to mess with. If Polar made an m400 level watch with an optical heart rate monitor that worked as well as the one on their m200, and fixed a couple other little things (backlight on wrist turn, a better band clasp) that would be a great watch. Hopefully they will do this.

I love this watchI received this watch for Christmas this year. I love all the info and feedback I am able to get through the polar flow app. The only reason I gave it a 4/5 was after a month of daily use the connection between my iPhone and the watch seemed to start working. I contacted Polar about my issue in within 12 hours received a response that has solved my Bluetooth connection problems. While the watch has bugs. Contact polar they were very quick and helpful with a fix.
The Polar Adults' M400 Sports Watch with GPS is water resistant up to 30 meters deep. It is safe for swimming, just not diving past 30 meters, however it will not provide a heart rate in water.

Checking again, just bought this at the Academy in Waxahachie, TX and it did not have the heart rate sensor. Shouldn't this have the heart rate sensor?
