Great product ! & at about 30% lower priceThese rod cases are great- I have 2 of the larger size plano offers , plus this is my second one of this size (4 total) . We just got back from our annual week of fishing in the florida keys, and these cases protected all of our rods flawlessly from Atlanta to Marathon & back by car.
On our previous trip I had arrived in the keys only to find some damaged tips & guides which required a costly trip to the tackle shop for repair prior to use.Well worth the money ,plus, academy had them at a significant discount!

Sturdy but HeavyThe inside dimension is much smaller than it looks because of the 3-sections design. It can probably hold up to 4 rods of mix sizes and up to 6 light duty single section rods. It looks well built and sturdy, but on the heavy side. In fully retracted form, it measures just under 62" in total dimension and meets most airline's standard check-in requirement. In my last fishing trip, I carried two 2-section rods and was able to check it in as regular baggage both ways.
I bought mine on Ebay last summer for a trip to Alabama, and it worked out great. Airline accepted it, no problems at all. Good and sturdy, just like it needed to be. I had 3 rods and reels in mine, just wrapped t-shirts around the reels, and put them in too. A good investment if you plan to travel on planes and don't want your rods and reels busted up!
