Would this reel be able to be spooled with braid and if so how much and what size?
Asked by: Buzz tail

At this time, we do not offer the PENN® Battle II™ 3000 Spinning Reel Convertible pre-spooled with braid. Please check back at a future date to see if we offer that service.

I'm considering purchasing this reel for surf fishing. What length surf rod would be recommended?
Asked by: Agave
For surf fishing, we prefer a 9' or a 10' rod. However, this is a preference and will really depend on what you like. If you're going to be holding your rod, we would suggest a smaller and lighter rod (9'-10') and if you plan on casting and setting the rod then you could probably go a bit longer.
