A lot of realestateI bought a competitors griddle first however returned it because the legs where flimsy and the unit was unstable. Rather than trying another unit, I decided to buy the larger - much larger 50" griddle. I took it to the river to feed 18 people. It work great! if you do a lot of cooking; this is the best thing ever. It has become my new backyard favorite cooking tool. The only thing keeping it form a 5 star is the actual top itself. If you buy a unit, make sure the cook top does not "rock" back and forth. Its large, heavy and is difficult to keep level from the welding process during fabrication. With that said, my second cook top didn't "rock" but it sags slightly in the middle. fortunately it sags in the middle and to the front so oils and run off from cooking doesn't pool on the cooking surface. I went to a restaurant supply and bought some higher end griddle spatula and a high end cleaning/scraper tool. Clean the top with a squirt bottle of water and paper towels after each use. Finish up with a light coat of Pam or peanut oil after each use and it will season perfectly over time.

The Outdoor Gourmet™ 50" 6-Burner Gas Griddle features a 0.75" coated-steel griddle top and has the following dimensions: Product height (in.): 40; Product width (in.): 39.6; Product depth (in.): 68.7; Product weight (lb.): 151.7.
Also, regarding the Outdoor Gourmet™ 50" 6-Burner Gas Griddle, you should use a small amount of cooking oil on the cooking surface before heating to reduce foods sticking.
For cleaning the griddle surface:
1. Immediately after using the griddle turn heat to “Low” position. While hot, the griddle top should be washed with water and a lint-free cloth.
2. Keep the griddle on “Low” heat until the griddle is completely dry.
3. Now turn off the griddle and allow to cool before proceeding.
4. Liberally rub cooking oil on the griddle surface with a lint-free cloth.
5. Turn the griddle back on to “Low” position until you see a thin layer of oil forming. Wipe off the excess oil with a clean lint-free cloth.
6. Turn off the griddle and allow to thoroughly cool before placing on griddle cover. Store griddle in a dry climate to prevent rusting.
To restore the griddle surface if it has gotten rusty:
It is important to maintain griddles and keep them seasoned to minimize rusting. There are numerous suggested guides to bring a griddle cooking surface back to cooking grade. If the rust is not too extensive, it usually takes a fine brush. warm water and baking soda and rub vigorously in circles to begin removing the rust. Clean often and wipe down with paper towels. Repeat the steps as often as needed to bring the cooking surface back. Re-seasoning is getting the griddle hot and wiping it down with high temperature cooking oil. Be careful as Griddle surface is hot. Wear a heat resistant glove. Wipe off the excessive oil. Allow the griddle to cool down completely. There should be a nice sheen to the surface. Once the griddle surface is fully cooled down keep the griddle covered while not in use.
