Awesome amateur smoker!I bought this smoker for the Fourth of July sale. I am an avid amateur smoker and started with a little dinky chargriller. I did my homework and got the jist of smoking and decided to UP my game. I also did tons of homework on smokers. What sealed the deal was a video by BBQ With Franklin. If he's using an old country, I will too! There are some minor mods to do with the wrangler II BUT IT IS WORTH IT! No assembly necessary, some sealant will do due to the fact it is handmade to prevent some heat leakage. I took the charcoal plate and moved it inside the smoker to distribute heat evenly and it was perfect! Make or buy a basket/old grill grate for the fire box! I love this thing. I seasoned it with bacon grease in the inside for about 3hrs high heat and used wd-40 for the outside. It looks great!

Amazing giftI got this for fathers day and have used it every weekend since. It's the third smoker I have had and pleased beyond expectation. For the money and for somene who usually only cook for 2-15 this is plenty enough of an offer smoker for someone new to the art or a seasoned veteran.

This is the same size as the orginal Wrangler...But that's as far as it goes. Old Country is known for their heavy duty, welded steel smokers. THIS, is not one of those. I have the original Wrangler and for $500, you CANNOT find a better smoker, guarantee it! But this is flimsy, thin metal design which is now in comparison with the CharBroil smokers of the world, is not the product I am used to from Old Country. If you're looking for a thin metal, quality smoker, then sure, this is a great design. But for the money, step up to the Pecos or Over/ Under for their high quality products.
