Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best handgun scope ever!!!!! This is my second pistol scope and my 7th nikon scope. It will not disappoint you. Nikon scopes are the best out there for the price. They can't be beat and the Nikon SpotOn program seals the deal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holding up so far ! I put this on my encore 460 was a little afraid of how it would hold up. 2 years later and it's still dead on ! Only problem flip up covers are cheap 2nd shot broke the rear cap off. (But I didn't buy it for them) so far I couldn't be happier shot my first buck with this set up at 100 yards. This is my second nikon scope and it won't be my last

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pistol Scope I'd purchased the XR as a replacement to my Bushnell Elite 2- 6 on my Ruger Super Redhawk in 44 mag. I've had the Bushnell for several years, and it finally broke. My Ruger has been my primary hunting pistol since I've started using a pistol on medium game. I load a variety of stout loads for hunting deer, primarily and have recently converted to Hornady 225 gr ftx bullets where I'm getting around 1550 fps with my handloads. The XR has no problem with the recoil, is very clear, and offers more magnification than most pistol scopes, out to 8x magnification. Even better is Nikon's Spot On balistics calculator which provides me with the bullet drop and distance values for the BDC circles. It makes it easier guessing where your going to hit at the range and in preparation for hunting. I can attest to the accuracy of the Spot on calculator as I validated its accuracy at the range. Great scope!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Handgun Scope This is my first experiance with a scoped handgun. I have used Nikon optics for years, simply because they seem to have the best optics and clarity to fit my eye. This scope is no different. I mounted it on a Super Blackhawk 44 Mag.Hunter. 7-1/2" barrel with 1" scope rings that came with the gun. To clear the hamer I had to move the rear sight all the way down and remove the rear sight picture. I also removed the front sight so I could move the scope all the way forward so that the hammer was easier to controll. Bore sighted it with a laser at 50 yds. first six shots were low and left. Made some adjustments and shot again. Made another adjustment and it was a done deal. My next session will be to sight it in for 100yds. to see were the reticles line up. Very sensitive, great magnafication, great clarity. If it holds up to the recoil of the gun, should be a winner.
